My friend made an interesting point the other day. He looked at the cover and noticed the cover to the Jester Race in the background of the kid in the mirror and he is looking horribly upset and old and shriveled up. I know it's a real long shot, but it's an interesting observation be it valid or not. Does anyone think In Flames was going for something with the artwork of this? Ashamed of their past? Brushing away the "old school" fans who yell sell out? Nothing at all?

Isn't that the cover for Black Ash Inheritance on his shirt, as well?

I'm sure there's some meaning in it, probably that they've "evolved".

I don't think they are implying they are ashamed of their past. I got a back stage pass when I saw them last May and had a good chat with each member. I mostly tried to talk about the old material, 'cause that's what I'm interested in and they were all enthusiastic about it and said they were proud of all of their albums. The artwork for their new album was abysmal, as was the music. Anyway, I think that clears it up.

By the way, my signed copy of The Jester Race is probably my most prized metal possesion!

The reference to their old stuff is the only redeeming feature (I use the expression very, very loosely) in the bullshit they call artwork today. The music is still allright, I like a good number of new songs, but the artwork is truly disgusting.
