Hey, I was wondering if there were some easy death metal songs I could record on my cheap computer mic from my Line 6 Spider II combo amp and my Jackson Rhoads.

Also, I was wondering if I REALLY, REALLY need to use pinky to play guitar.

Yes you will realy need to use your pinky. Just keep practicing and your pinky will be just as easy to use as the rest of your fingers. If you don't, you will be severly limited in what you can play on your guitar.

You need your pinky not only for solos, but to play riffs too; I can't play power chords without my pinky. And not using your pinky is a 25% (since you have 4 fingers) reduction on anything you can play.

You don't NEED to use your pinky. That said, why wouldn't you?

Eligos says lots of things about bass, he's a bassist. Which made me wonder why it'd be a problem for him to use his pinky playing guitar, since it's common to use your pinky to play bass as well.

Look at anything from Death's Scream Bloody Gore and Leprosy. Every song is rather easy and sounds sick as hell if executed properly. Some other easy death metal bands are Obituary (Frozen In Time) or Possessed (Seven Churches). However, Possessed may just come out as a lot of feedback with speed. None the less, Death is definitely a band you could cover forever.

Although looked down upon here, Slaughter of the Soul is a very fun song to play. Yes you need your pinky in a few spots, or at least I do. I'm starting to figure out why people diss the album so much, the songs are suprizingly easy to learn. But it sounds great nonetheless...

I kinda doubt that's it. If that was it, wouldn't everyone here that dislikes it love tech death and other technical forms of music?

You also like The Black Dahlia Murder, right? I've heard Slaughter influenced a lot of that stuff.

Quite a few people around here don't care too much for Slaughter of the Soul (various reasons).
