I could do this awesome gurgly thingy with my throat from a young age, and then I listened to Velvet Cacoon's "Genevieve" (the song Laudanum in particular), and realised I wasn't quite so unique.

Does anybody know anyone else apart from Josh (SGL) who does that vocal style? If you wanna know what I'm on about, there's a good sample in the song "Laudanum", which has a little interlude where nothing can be heard except the gurgly voice.

The only thing I can remotely think that is close to their vocals is this black metal demo I came across (sorry I forgot the band name, started with an "n"), or REALLY early Emperor.

I'll have to check it out! ^^

But I did read an interview that said the vocals were "alien", so maybe it's a very uncommon thing after all.
