The brainchild of Nightmarer, vocalist and guitarist of Spanish avant-garde black metallers As Light Dies, Garth Arum is the project of a lifetime and takes avant-garde experimentalism one step further, adding elements of ambient sounds, classical compositions and dreamy electronics.
The collation of such disparate layers and textures on Garth Arum’s first album “The Dawn of a New Creation” is simply astonishing and form a very fluid, eclectic and cohesive whole. Garth Arum’s music can be light or dark, vehement or gentle, romantic or hopeless, evoking images of desolate landscapes in one minute and surreal fairytales in the next one.

The versatile 11 tracks of this enthralling debut album were composed throughout the last fifteen years and feature some magnificent contributions from various vocalists. Cecilia Tallo from On3ric4 offers her angelic voice to both the opening and closing song, “A New Creation” and “Trip (Part II)” respectively, Lady Carrot from Aegri Somnialends her soprano vocals to “The Path To Oblivion” and “Trip (Part I)”. Slo from Smohalla sings on “Rusty Hands”, while Camille Giraudeau also from Smohalla and Stagnant Waters contributes to “Yearned Freedom”.
Expect this irreverent and stunning gem of music to come out on June, 24th 2013 via Satanath Records.
