Here's the page! We have a demo currently in the works right now. I have the first song up which is titled "Shattering of Terrestial Reality (Invasion of Aberration)"

It's really good. Clearly the product of a whole lot of different influences.

I am very pleased it is being recieved generally well here. I was rather timid at first in displaying it at such an early stage, with the demo not even recorded yet... but I felt that the music was good enough in my own heart to show.

I really want to get a decent amount of copies of it pressed and distributed, but I guess I'll have to worry about that later.

I think you're at least fifteen years too late for that stuff to pass as strange. ;)

Well, one thing's strange, I found is pretty enjoyable, which is a surprise considering who's behind it. :P

Hah, you're right. I'm just using it as a catch-all term with shit like this. Don't know what else to describe this sort of style that Demilich does so well(whether you love 'em or hate 'em).

The music is fine, but the vocals are really weak.

Well, they aren't supposed to be "powerful" in any sense. Brutality and force are not what I'm going for.

Yes, it's obvious your not vocalizing with 100% force. However, I don't believe that would fit the music appropriately, as what your doing has a bit more "feeling" behind it. Either way I think the vocals sound fine, they have an near eerie and overall fitting presence in the music.

To be honest, the vocals reminded me of "Soulside Journey". But probably only because it's one of the very few non-3to5-chord-old-school-DM albums I listen to. For the same reason the vocals reminded me a bit of Molested's "Blod-draum", too.

As a tangent, that's getting re-released soon on Ars Magna.

Pretty hard to describe. Semi-technical DM that sounds like it was produced by the same guy that produced "Under a Funeral Moon", very cavernous and swampy. Just has an awesomely bleak atmosphere the thing.

That better not be completely fucking up the artwork like it's done with 99% of all re-released these days. Already pisses me off that the digipak re-release of "Jormundgand" looks like total crap.

Haven't seen the art yet, but it's a combination of that album and 'Stormvold'.

The strangest thing is actually the band name choice. Quality of the music aside, is it so hard to come up with a name, which was not used by a respected thrash band previously?

I do not see a huge issue with it, as they have been defunct for quite some time nor were they ever exceedingly popular.

Maybe not exceedingly, but they have toured Europe, released two albums on roadrunner and gained dedicated fans worldwide. They were the first Atrophy with a label release, mind you.

The reissue shows, that there is still deman for their releases.

Queens of the Stone Age (Gamma Ray) were also wondering about an "unknown" European power metal band, bearing the name Gamma Ray and the outcome is well known..

But to demand some respect for veteran Bands is seemingly very hard on this forum:

Oh I was aware of them for a while now. It isn't any conscious effort to disrespect them, as I like them a bit. The difference here though is that they have been split up for a while. In fact I heard they even reunited under a different name.

Maybe I should change it to The Force Atrophy ov Fire.

You have another example - Hades Almighty - that does not sound band and has certain continuity.

The easiest way is to do a search here, on rockdetector or similar for band names, before you start your own project.

Well... I know. I just mentioned that I have been aware of the band for quite some time. I personally don't see it as anything serious, for reasons I mentioned earlier. If any problems come out of it (and I really don't think that any will) then we can certainly change the name but I prefer not to.

Sounds great, Shattering is still my personal favourite but it's definitely a quality piece.

Excellent! Hopefully we can finish recording this next song within the month or April, and the demo will be complete and I'll look around for a label to press/distribute.

Last song is up, check it out! It's title "Prelude to Phantasmagoria"

Also we are very much ready to distribute our EP now, but we are still looking for labels willing to do that. If there is anyone who can help us out concerning distribution, please let me know!

Just chekced the latest song. This is probably the best! The contrast between the overall fast pace and the slow middle is great.

Yeah I think it is our most straightforward too. I am rather fond of the doom bridge going on, too. "Prelude to Phantasmagoria" is actually in direct continuity lyrically with the proceeding track, "Consumed From Within the X-Zone".

Yeah he is very good! Everyone should check out his work that he's posted at nuclearwarnow, and his metal zine is really fantastic too.

Still no luck with labels yet, but we're trying!

Your logo is really unique. Zapinski is a well made zine and I cannot wait to get the next issue.

Good news! We will actually be releasing our debut as a full length album through Suffering Jesus Productions and Metalbolic Records! Expect a release date soon!

Also, we will be appearing on Metalbolic Records' Metalbolic Volume II compilation, if anyone is interested!
