I suppose mediafire and dropbox are best, no waiting and decent speed. Rapidshare is cybertorture.

Also, may I suggest that you later on open a new thread for posting the tracks, reviews, final results, etc...

I 100% agree on that, especially opening a new thread for posting songs.

A new thread would be cool to post the "Results" I hate having to search through the old thread to find stuff.

Also, I forgot about this, and will be rushing to produce something excellent. No one handed business, sorry folks. I am feeling like writing some particularly grim melodic/atmospheric BM though... :D

I'm down to create a new thread for results.

Hopefully we'll have a few more finished songs coming in sometime soon. That way we can finish this third challenge up quickly for the next one, with an actual genre in mind this time.

I've done everything, except for the guitars (I am waiting for the guitarist to send so that I mix everything). Hopefully he'll send it soon, I might not be able to submit until 25 or 26 of this month. Is it ok ?

I'm done with the guitar composing; I just have to get the guitars recorded and the vocals recorded and the drums programmed.

thanks! i'm looking forward to actually reviewing everyone's work this time around. I'm not as swamped with projects and bullshit as last go around. and it's not going to be a clusterfuck of failure like that black metalshit I half assed.

gave a good listen on the way to the gym. vocals need to come up, tad more kick, bit more snare and i can wrap it on up.

Same man. I can't wait to review everybody's track and see what others think of mine. It's gonna be pretty sweet I can feel it. I'm really looking forward to the end of the month to see how metal-archives people have improved since the last time.

The song is finally finished being written. Hopefully we'll get all of the recording done tomorrow and Monday and finish the mixing and stuff as soon as we can.

the guitarist hasn't got anything recorded, although I've sent him the tab long time ago. I am afraid that I'll definitely need the additional 3 days

How was the last competition\who won it?
I was thinking about making a sticky thread that contains links to all the competitions that have been made with the download links.

I was thinking dropbox would be the way to go on this one, seeing as some people might not be cool with downloading files to their comp. I can upload to rapidshare if anyone would like me to, so feel free to ask.

Hey,

Is it too late for me to register in this contest? ;)

these aren't competitions per say cause there is no winner. basically things to motivate the musicians on here to push themselves to create and finish something to share with everyone. it's all friendly. but if you want to do a sticky thread of all the songs and competitions I think that would be pretty awesome.

That's alright, it doesn't need to have a perfect mix.

From my point of view, these are not competitions, nor should they be. It's really more of a relaxed enviroment in which the musicians come together, sometimes collab and just jam their shit out, writing music and enjoying the fun of it all.

A sticky thread for the previous challenges would be a cool thing to have. We can see how everything has evolved and that then.

I know :) ,but I thought other competitions used to be organized differently this is why I asked how\who.
anyway,I can't wait to hear everyone work.
I'll search for older challenges and prepare thread for it(or if someone else want to do this),hope the links are still working.

My entry is the best produced thing I've made so far. Triple tracked rhythm guitars, quad-tracked vocals, compression, EQ, stereo-imaging and maximization. Probably not the best thing I've written since I did it all in one session but I think you'll all like it.

Drums and bass are done. Guitars getting tracked. Then vocals, then mixing.

Actually, the very first one was very strictly organized, with each person receiving a specific (and interesting) song concept and were judged on their ability to write a song that was both good and fit the concept.

The second one tried to do this, but the moron that ran it just wanted everyone to make a mix of *insert genre* and metalcore. It failed, with no one really submitting anything.

The "first one" you refer to, is in fact the third one.

SO. INCREDIBLY. MUDDY. But in an awesome way.

Anyways, since I'm the one who was playing the guitar, I've got two tracks (probably, I might be lazy and not do it) to do tomorrow. Then we're still deciding how vocal duties will be handled (if they're to be shared or what), record those, then mix and be done.

Come on guys, let's play nice now. No need to get snappy.

I've just been informed that there is a nice little surprise in store for all listeners now. ShaolinLambKiller has created an EP of six deadly tracks! this seems like a nice idea for the next contest.

You know, create an EP of 4-6 tracks or something, thirty five days.

So I changed genres again. Depressive ambient. I'll be doing the drums for my collab tonight.

oh no CoftP blew the big surprised i had for everyone. Oh well.

i'm not sure how most people would feel about doing a full ep since some seem to have trouble getting one song completed, not that i'm trying to discount anyone's ability. Just going off what i've seen from the previous ones and this one.

I don't think an EP is totally doable in 35 days for most, but what if we were to do a minimum song length of like, 6 minutes or so?
