Hello

I dont know if i shall sing for this band or not. I have given the oppurtunity to do so but it doesnt feel right. I am more into oldschool raw satanic black metal and these guys seem more into the lyrical theme of theology. The music doesnt make any sense for me i can barely hear the vocals and i dont understand one thing about the lyrics. Do you think its a waste of time if i try to sing for this band? They are two guys who has been doing this from 2015.

Just read the lyrics i dont understand one thing. And i dont understand Latin.

Deathspell-inspired occult black metal generally has more potentially going for it than the ocean of 90s 2nd wave rehashes

They probably have the vocals turned down because they weren't happy with them, which is why they're looking for a vocalist now.

If it doesn't feel right to you, then you shouldn't do it. But even if it's not your dream band, if you think the gig could help you improve as a vocalist, and help you reach a place where you want to be as a vocalist, meanwhile helping this band out, then why not give it a chance. Just be very clear to them about your misgivings. They might even be happy to accommodate for you.

If you want to understand that style of black metal better, you could try listening to some of those Icelandic bands, because some of them really manage to bridge the gap between Deathspell Omega-influenced experimental style, and the classic De Mysteriis evil style. Check out at least Svartidauði and Misþyrming.

It's a little bit of a learning curve, adding to the above I'd try Abyssal or Dodecahedron or Thantifaxath, all weird in different ways.
