Can anyone tell me what amps and other effects both guitarists might've used? I've looked around and haven't been able to come up with anything uvu thank

Found in an interview: Jon used a Flying V and a vintage Les Paul Custom run trough a Marshall JCM900 dual reverb with a metalzone pedal.. this seems to be the secret :)

Truth! Probably used only as a booster :lol:

Also note: even if live he used emg's, in studio the guitars had stock pickups

Doubtful. That distortion sound is very similar to a metalzone used tastefully (yes, such a thing is possible. It can sound great if you know how to dial it in. see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QhhteFqZvo

Sounds good indeed! Like many others i've been accustomed to the beehive sounds of local metal bands using it, i should probably borrow one and test properly

Ah yes! As a booster it makes sense, It's hard to picture a metalzone not sounding like a can of angry bees on it's usual bedroom kid "ALL THE GAIN" position.
