all i've really been feeling in general in terms of music lately has been mellow, slow, sun-kissed sort of stuff, and that's really been coming out in my guitar playing. Been writing all these slow, drifting songs, almost have enough for an album! Will probably spend the next few months getting it demo'd in some form or another. Feeling really inspired, it's a good feeling, for sure :)

WOO!

My band just passed the $4000 dollar mark in our fund raising pitch we made on indiegogo.com! We can now officially afford to have our new album professionally mixed, mastered, and pressed. :D

Decided I'm gonna do a full length instead of an EP as my debut release for Green Destroyed. Got the opener and closer done (need to post the opener on my soundcloud and start a Bandcamp page soon), in the middle of another song, then I'll have only one left for what should be a 35-40 minute album. Awesome! Also decided I'm either gonna do an EP or split next, with another song I have written and a fully (dark) ambient, instrumental version of the first song I put on my soundcloud page (Doomed To Exinction).

So I've decided I am releasing a demo after all, but it's gonna have one track that's like 13 minutes or whatever. Sounds good? Who'd download it? It'd be like a mixture of monotonous/atmospheric Burzum with some really furious parts and maybe an ambient section.

Sounds like something I'd download (and like something I'd write, haha), good luck!

Hahaha, thanks. I'm probably just gonna make it a free download and bootleg it, sell for 2 dollars at gigs. Though I'd like to get all my demo's into a compilation one day. That'd be sweet.

Hah, thanks guys. I'd appreciate you even checking it out for that matter. Been itching to release something, but I'm not gonna go the road of my last demo as "Merkuri" and release too early.

Awwwright, will do. Actually, it'd be cool if you did provide some strange basswork for the song. The first half is a monotonous piece with discordant guitars, could really use some distorted, delayed bass to add depth to it. It's gonna draw influence from psychedelic rock :P Psychedelic Black Metal?

What's everyone else up to?

been crying myself to sleep a lot...and debating the bigsby upgrade. I can't find anything that says whether or not I need a certian type of telecaster bridge or not. been looking at photos, but who knows if there's a small difference between the one I have and the ones a bigsby require. :ugh:

Hate when that fucking happens...

Uploading everyone's songs from the song challenge to youtube.

And I'm hoping to get some select responses to my 7 track album in the next few weeks before I post it publicly.

well it's not that so much as I would've lost my ability to record for awhile and I fucking can't stand that. I have everything backed up but still just so fucking aggrivating.

My band just finished recording our first full-length album! 10 songs were put down for it and we'll probably be doing some mixing this Friday.

After a bit of shit going on in life recently and a load of Saint Vitus and even more Debris Inc, I've got back in to music making. Got some lovely doompunk on the go. Yay. Maybe one day I'll actually form a band for this shit.

Just been hired to do sound design and composition for an upcoming PC game. Its not a big budget thing like Halo or whatever but its a decent start. Won't be much metal in the music I'd imagine, but I'm aiming to throw in some heavy guitars here and there.

it sounds very good. much more melodic than i expected it to be. you should've turned them guitars up more though. They are almost getting drowned out by the kick and vocals.

Thanks for listening. You're right! It appears as though the track lost 1 guitar in the file conversion to Youtube, so you're only hearing half of what you should be. We'll remedy that today. It's a pity it's been listened to in this form because usually both guitars are playing something different, so the track sounds rubbish compared to how it should sound. Oh well, it'll be fixed. Thanks for pointing out the error.

I am currently in a Funk Metal/Alternative band, whose name will not be discosed for security reasons, at least for awhile. We started as a Blues-Rock band a little over two years ago. I am the Lead Guitarist and Vocalist of said band. We've recently be concentrating on laying down tracks for a new demo.

On hiatus are two of my bands. One of which is a Post-Hardcore/Metalcore band (which I, mind you, was basically forced into), in which I am the Rhythm Guitarist. The other is an Alternative Metal/Post-Grunge band in which I am the Lead Guitarist, Vocalist, Programmer, and occasional Drummer.

I also work on the side, making solo material. In this recording project, I play all Guitar parts, all Drum parts, all Keyboard parts, and Alto Saxophone parts. I don't use Vocals with this project. I play a mixture of Jazz Fusion, Speed Metal, Classical, and Progressive.

As a Guitarist, I've been working more recently on soloing ability, playing alot of Stratovarius covers nowadays. My imrovisational skills have always kind of sucked. Show me what to do on Guitar, and I'll do it; give me a couple days to write and perform a ridiculously difficult Guitar part, and I'll do it; but for some reason, spontaneously coming up with solos and whanot has always been a downfall for me.

As a Drummer, I only recently discovered heel-up double-kicking technique. Yeah, I know, it's pathetic, but I actually got into heel-down for years, and just recently I've been heel-up-ing.

I've also been working alot more on Programming, Sampling, and Electronic musicianship.

I've just about finished most of the song I'm doing for this month's songwriting challenge. It has about 8 riffs, which is kinda weird for me (since my songs usually have upwards of 15 :P), but I'm pretty satisfied with it. Now I just need to touch up on the drums and jam out a solo. :D

Just about 3/4 of the way done with my album; 2 songs done, 1 just needs vocals, one ready to record. Gonna work on some full on (dark) ambient pieces as well as some more BM for future EP's and splits next.

Starting my old death/thrash band back up, writing lyrics, working on songs that we're going to cover, and working on vocals since I might do them in the band. Looks like my summer might be less boring than I thought it would be!

On the third take, I managed to record the rhythm section of the song I wrote for the forum challenge, using my crappy iPhone recorder. It's far from perfect, but I'm pretty satisfied with what I've made. Using Reaper is boggling the shit out of me though...

Well, turns out the band isn't getting back together. The guitarist is too busy with his other band. So, I'm starting a rock band with my girlfriend. Should be pretty fun, but I was looking forward to playing metal again.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=thAd6Sg4syA
It wasn't supposed to be made public, but somehow found it's way onto Youtube. I can't say I'm too upset about it either, so I thoguht I'd share the link.

Still promoting the new demo for my one man band. Now I'm thinking about making either a split album or a new demo. But I'm not sure how much producing vinyls would cost.

The link to the new demo is in the signature.
