I just submitted my first review for the challenge, and at ~3,200 words it's my longest to date. :) Nice to see that this challenge motivated me to do something.

Always a pain in the ass to list three-way and four-way splits, ha :-D

Jesus man, don't subject people to that kind of torture. My longest review was ~1,250 and it had so much unnecessary filler.

Course, yours might just be amazing and I don't know it.

This review is impressive. It is reasonably concise but sums up most of what you need to know about Pale Creation.

Thanks man! I try to get some background without going overboard. The main focus should be the music, but I tend to wander at times.

As of right now, I've written four of the six reviews I originally planned. I have two and a half left to do now (considering I started Meridian and added Sophicide). I'm running out of shit to review.

If this keeps up, I'll be adding bands to the queue as well as reviews!

I surprised myself and made it through the review. Although I'm not a fan of BDM in the least bit, it was a very well written/well planned out review. Even with the length, it was still able to keep my attention. Nice work!

Uhhh... In my Odium - At the Bottom review, I meant to write 60%, not 6. Oops.

Time to go write some more.

Post subject:  Re: Review Challenge: One Last Time Before The Mayans Kill U

For the record, the review I just submitted for On Broken Wings' second album was conceived and partially written before this challenge was announced. The unusual format was some creative fun, not dumb lampooning for the challenge. Hope y'all enjoy it.

It's also a band that went over ten years and three and a half albums without having a single review on MA.

Oi, Gunther reviewed Sophicide's Perdition of the Sublime on the 8th. Can I still review that? I've got the bloody thing half done.

Yes. Any albums which were virgins at the start of the challenge are still eligible review targets.

Post subject:  Re: Review Challenge: One Last Time Before The Mayans Kill U

I figured that was the case, but Gunther did this one, so I was wary.

Just resubmitted my Odium - At the Bottom review, fixing up that 6 into a 60% and italicising "Burning the Bridges to Nowhere" at the end.

Seems like a healthy amount of reviews so far. I'm not usually too "up" on how many reviews and virgin reviews get accepted on a weekly basis, but it seems like we're doing pretty well here. Good work to everyone who is participating!

Thought I would participate, but I just don't have it in me. Would rather be doing other things, and I have drill this weekend so I'm in low spirits to begin with. I also have more than enough homework to keep me busy for a day like today. My bad, Metantoine.

Turns out I didn't have as much time for this challenge as I thought/would have liked, but I managed to squeeze in a review today that I just submitted (Divine Element - S/T).
Will we be allowed to write until the end of tomorrow or is it over at midnight tonight? What about European timezones? :P

Wait, what? Five hours? It's only 5:28 if you're at GMT -5, midnight here is happening in about six and a half hours from right now.

I guess I shouldn't have left tort tutorial preparation for Sunday night. Looks like it'll be just those three reviews, then.

EDIT: Oh dear, it appears I have spelled BEER as BEAR in my 4-way split review. If any mod has nothing better to do, it's at the end of paragraph 1.

You got it wrong mate, I'm on the GMT time zone, so I had the nine hours plus the extra five given by the time zone difference. Tony's the one who is on GMT-5. :p

Anyway I submitted another one and I'm not sure I'm going to write anymore today, even though I could still submit reviews for the next six hours as of now. I'm exhausted actually and I've spent a great deal of the day writing and listening to brutal stuff, plus I just put an Esoteric album for relaxation purposes and that one will take a while till it ends! :D

So, and to save you guys the trouble, I submitted reviews for Melancholy Pessimism's Recompense To Saints and Inconsistent World plus Calm Hatchery's El-Alamein. And pardon me for the recurrently bad capitalization but that's just me. I can never got used to those rulings, eh. :)
