How long does it take for a review to be checked? I submitted one on Jan 29th and it still says "pending".

My last review got accepted in about 15 minutes. Sometimes they've waited for days. Have patience.

It depends on how many reviews are pending and how much time moderators who handle reviews have to spare to read and approve reviews. If it's a review of an album that already has a lot of reviews, it may need to be compared to other reviews to determine if it adds anything new to an already bulky list of reviews.

In my experience, reviews of albums that don't have other reviews are usually done within a few days, maybe a week at most. Reviews of albums with a lot of reviews can take a few weeks, maybe a month? Use those as rough guidelines, those are my approximations based on 50-60 reviews I've added to the site. A week if it's brand new content, a month if it's something that mods are sick of reading about (i.e. Mastodon, Metallica, Opeth)

If you're a regular reviewer, reviews will sometimes be accepted faster as well, since the moderators are familiar with your style and can assume that the review will be acceptable.

Yeah, I used to have another account back in like 07-08 and all my reviews took less than two or three days to be posted.

I was just wondering why my review for Coffins's split with Macabra "In Quarantine with Death" has been pending for 19 days. If there's an issue with it I haven't received an e-mail in regards to what I need to fix. Or is 19 days typical for a review to get approved?

I added the release and wrote a review in the same night. just wondering if there was something I needed to fix.

Nope, everything is fine, don't worry. The review queue is getting a bit long, nothing wrong about your review. I will work on it soon, I was mostly absent for 2 weeks.
