New Rottrevore EP and "The Best of Suffocation".

Despite having been online since August, I have yet to see a single review of my last demo, Death of the Sky God. As I just replaced the files on Bandcamp with a slightly alternate (and better) mix, I am wondering if anyone wants to have a go at reviewing it? Link in my sig.

I'm pretty sure autothrall would tear the latter to pieces and leave it with a 0% if his other "greatest hits" reviews are any indication.
And I agree with most of them, a lot of them are useless cash grabs.

I'd like to get my band Vathek's EP reviewed. I'd really enjoy hearing anyone's feedback. It can be listened to on our bandcamp page http://vathek.bandcamp.com and the track that has no audio can be listened to on our Facebook page http://facebook.com/vathekmetal .

Hi,

Founded in early 2010, Ishtar is a french Black / Death band that gathers members primarily influenced by the mighty Dark Fortress, who decided to unite to create their own music.
We just released our first EP "From the Gates" and we are now looking for reviews to get outside opinions but also to promote it.

Here is our Bandcamp with 2 songs upload for a free listening : http://ishtarfrance.bandcamp.com/
If you're interested and available, you can contact us by MP for more informations.

Ishtar

Could someone please review Adrenechrome's Hideous Appetites? I know 2 of the members, and just want to help out. They're a thrash band with some stoner/blues influence.

EDIT: It already has 3, but could still use more :P

I'd like to request Empyreal to review any of the following because he's well-versed in power metal and I'm curious to see his thoughts on these releases:

Highlord - Medusa's Coil
Freternia - A Nightmare Story
Pegazus - Wings of Destiny

It's an old album, but I'd be interested in having someone review my band, Defeat's album From Far Away. I doubt if anyone here has it, so if anyone is interested I can email the songs. The style is heathen black metal, Bathory inspired sort of stuff, so if that's your thing...

Requesting a review for my band Crucifliction. We recently released our full-length debut album, "Heresy Is Met With Fire", online and we'd be overjoyed to get feedback from anyone. The genre of the music is heavy/speed/thrash metal. The album can be streamed on our bandcamp page at https://crucifliction.bandcamp.com/.

you should offer more than some bloody streaming. It makes things much easier when it comes to writing reviews.

Post subject:  Re: Request-a-Review Thread

Yeah, I would never consider writing a review if the band doesn't at least offer a free download...

why?

Post subject:  Re: Request-a-Review Thread

It's a small benefit in exchange of a service you do the band that is asking you to write a review, there's plenty of labels/bands that are still sending physical copies of their stuff, it's not too much to ask, really. It's not like it will ruin the artist, it's a freaking download!

A one word post, Frog? Really? You could have said your opinion!

I'm not sure if you are familiar with the concept of bandcamp, but in that site bands have the right to choose if they offer free downloads or not. In this case, you can download both albums, even in FLAC format if you want. I just edited the post to reflect that.

I'd consider sending copies to some blogs, but most of the times I did, there was no review, not even a negative one

Same experience.. I sent out dozens of promo cd's and got 1 review.

If anyone wants to download my album for review they can get it through the usual means (google "mortis metallum"). I'm just not offering any official downloads.

I might be down for reviewing some HMKids sometime. I know you like to recommend them for just about any sort of musical request a person could make, so I checked them out and I've gotta say they're a very special flavor of awful.

I know, they are ultra cheesy and not that well produced, but that is part of it's charm I guess.

It'd be cool if one of the reviewer's tackled Worship's 'Terranean Wake', its a great funeral doom album even by Worship's past standards which was released in 2012...
