It would be great if someone writes a review on it.

I'm liking the first song, interesting uplifting and juxtaposing melodic sound, I'll get on a review as soon as I get through the demo.

I'm quite surprised that Schaffer's new ode to tinfoil hasn't garnered a bashing of legendary proportions. So I would love to see some more intensely negative reviews for this surely terrible album (I haven't heard it, but I feel like a I have). I'm sure that at the very least Empyreal, ANA, and Basterhead have something to say about it.

The generally positive consensus has me confused, as well. I thought the first guy who gave it an 80% was a fluke!

I have better things to do. Like reviewing the new Ozzy Osbourne album. Clearly that is a pursuit more worthy of my time!

But seriously. You guys will like that one.

You're going to trash that album in the review, aren't you? Try to hide the "hate him because he's rich" sentiment though. :-)

Why? It's perfectly valid. He's rich without having done anything worthwhile to earn it, like Paris Hilton.

You're such a tease, just review some early Sabbath already! Oh, didn't Ozzy try and kill Sharon in the mid-80s? Surely, regardless of musicial taste, that's a worthwhile effort... despite its failure.

The discussion about it inspired me to try out some of that middle era Iced Earth I always ignored due to my hatred of Schaffer, so maybe I'll get to it, but it's more likely possible that I'll never be able to sit through it. It's so rare that I write anymore anyways...

See, this album won't get too many negative reviews because I'm about to lose my mind and I'm only halfway through it. Schaffer's a loon, his music is boring, his lyrics are retarded, and there are more stupid samples than an Amputated album. The samples take up more space than the actual lyrics. Mofuh's pretty damn lazy methinks.

I'd figured the more time taken up by samples could only be a good thing; less time spent listening to Schaffer.

But the clips are all a bunch of paranoid tin-foil hat conspiracy theorist crap! That's torture beyond belief, even with Schaffer's crap.

I don't think there is a heavy/power metal album left that is capable of impressing Empyreal into giving it above a 90.

...sure there is, man. What are you talking about? I gave Excalion and Black Majesty both 95 scores just this year, and Hanker's The Dead Ringer a 100.

Not quite, the samples are layered over his crappy music. And Emp's right, it's complete torture.

Can someone please review Grand Magus' debut. I would do it but I am biased.

Hello everyone!

I'm Kunal Choksi from Diabolical Conquest Webzine (http://www.diabolicalconquest.com).

I started a record label recently and 'Ritual Executions' is our first release from the Australian doomy death metal band called The Dead. Please check this link for more info on the band (mp3s, MySpace link, etc.)

http://diabolicalconquest.com/dcrecords ... utions.htm

Album Description: The second full length album of the Australian band The Dead is a brilliant mix of twisted, brain-warping death metal and miasmic sludgy/stoner doom. Perfectly arranged to maintain a sublime, engrossing balance, the combination of sharp, visceral hooks and massive doom trudges with remarkably groovy parts render Ritual Executions one of the most unique and fascinating albums to be released in this era. The remixing and remastering done by Aphotic Mote (Portal) specially for this DC Records version makes the originally dense and suffocating Ritual Executions much more breathable but retains the rawness and underground vibe that bring The Dead to life. The modified artwork sketched by vocalist Mike Yee suitably captures the essence and horrific otherworldly feel of The Dead's music - only a band member could achieve that.

Would anyone here like to review it? My label is based in India of all places, but I don't mind sending out a few physical promos to good writers, especially those who also write for other zines.

Those interested could send me a PM or email me here: [email protected]

Thanks guys!

It's an old demo but I'm looking for people that would be interested in reviewing it.

Any volunteers? The download link is here: http://www.reverbnation.com/aggressus

Note that this demo was made before me or the other guitarist Eddy were involved in this demo. It's still something I want reviewed though for the band.

I haven't listened to that one enough to review it. Grand Magus is my uber-find of the past year.

Take a look at my other reviews and decide.

Anyway, you will have to wait a couple of days at least - I have to finish my Waking The Cadaver bashing, and the Aequilibrium and Ark of Gemini reviews.

No, don't. Wait a few weeks before actually reviewing the damn album. Although I guess some of those were advance promo copies, but everyone else...eh, I never like seeing reviews so close to the date of release. Give it some time!

Maybe you're right. High profile releases do tend to get too many knee jerk write-ups. Empyreal, I would be shocked if you waited more than several months to do one.

Hey there, my band just put out a new Thrash Metal album on StormSpell Records and we would be thrilled to see some reviews go up here on the archives.

You can check out one track from the album on our Myspace: www.myspace.com/immaculatethrash

Drop me a pm if you're interested in reviewing it and you may recieve the full album digitally if you don't mind reviewing a non-physical copy of the album, in which case you are welcome to order it from the label website instead.

Just wanted to spread this band around. I'm working on a review for them right now: Festival of Mutilation- Gods of Infernal Desolation, http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5I0N7BKC, the first full-length of the bosnian death metal band. If any band deserves reviews, it's for this great year old low profile release.
