What are the rules about editing older review slightly now that time has put a slightly different shine on the album? Is that allowed? Not a total rewrite but maybe adjusting the score slightly and a bit of editing in the review itself.

Thanks.

Yeah that's fine. I'd do it to my old ones but they're beyond saving.

Edits, rewrites, and score adjustments are all fine. You can even change the score without needing to resubmit it.

Emphasizing that point, because nine out of ten users don't realize that the score is saved separately from the review itself, and resubmit their entire review when executing a score revision, which means it reverts back to a draft and has to be moderated again.

I just accidentally did that with my "Tortured Existence" review that I submitted last month, now kinda regretting it because it was sent back to the queue. :durr:

I was curious about this. I've noticed that some of the albums that I've searched in past years have changed scores dramatically without a significant increase in reviews. Do reviews ever get removed by mods?

Occasionally. Or the user deletes it themselves (which happens more often than one might think).

For well reviewed classic albums, I and others have made it a point to go back and retroactively reject the really bad ones that would have been an easy rejection today. Sometimes users do just delete their own but it's usually not that noticeable unless they were previously prolific.

I see, that makes sense. If I ever bothered to review anything, I would have changed my opinion quite a bit as well. I am thinking about finally weighing in on some of the "classics" that have stood the test of time, but have fewer reviews.
