Walgeist!! Good to see you around again. Who am I kidding, that's a lie.

Listen, and listen nice and well while I dissect what you said and expose it for what it is: horse shit; unless you prefer another variety, though don't go thinking it qualifies to be up to the level of say, human shit, unless you're solely talking about your own. That would be at the same level as the more simple varieties that it's on par with.

Quote:
To insult people seems to be typical for forum-metallers like you, but that´s not my level, sorry!

Well I'm so horribly sorry that we criticize you for the foreign-object-to-anal-cavity interaction that we're sorely missing out on. Is it really happier to be stupid? The term "forum-metallers" is also a little too abstract for your purposes. Try "Generally liberal intellectual cutthroats" on for size. And count your fucking blessings for that, you could be dealing with nothing but metalcore fanboys and the stereotypical drunken idiotic Slayer diehards. We do a decent job of culling the herd around here, and it seems that it might be at your expense this time around.

Quote:
So I return to arguments, I hope it´s not an excessive demand for you:

Unrealistic criticisms drenched in snot are arguments? You're really redefining a lot of things here.

Quote:
If someone even have not the promo, he has no informations about the release, except the music.

Tell me, after reading say... every fucking review in existence, tell me what they talk about when reviewing an album. The cellophane and the tinting on the fucking jewel case? Or do every single one of them talk about lyrics, musical qualities, production, and everything else that relies on one sense: audial. Visual imagery can be used to make a review more descriptive and interesting, but what would that imagery be based on? What the reviewer is hearing. What is the purpose of an album? To convey the music, and you're ignorant beyond words to even attempt to establish any importance of some liner notes or artwork in lieu of the music. I could go on for days, but jackassitis may have too firm of a grip on you.

Quote:
If you are requested here to write about the SOUND of an album, you depend on the quality of your fucking mp3. I don´t know if you own original material, but mp3 contents always a leak of quality.

Are you dumb, deaf, or blind? A vast majority of releases are at cd quality, and it's known fact that though there's loss between 320kbps and 192kbps, it is not detectable by human hearing. That's the truth, that's what's relevant to reviewing an album, and you're flat out wrong.

Quote:
Further, I am not able to write, when the stuff was recorded or if there are guest musicians involved in the release, in which studio, theme of lyrics, artwork, label and so on.

There's this great source of information you're ignoring. It's called the internet. And a small subsection specifically relevant to what you pointed out. It's called this fucking website. Your delusion is only exceeded by your ignorance.

Quote:
I know that the music is the most important part, but it stands not for itself (for example there are lots of people who wouldn´t listen to music made by Nationalsocialists, even if the stuff is much better than their "just commercially" music)

The fact that English is your second language really glares here. But at any rate that's a highly subjective and abstract opinion, and holds even less water that the other garbage you choose to spew. At this point, the advice to "abandon ship" is pretty redundant. You made one intelligent admission. That's like the common adage about chocolate cake and shit: who cares, it's still shit.

Quote:
If you are not able to get a real copy and "forced" to write about a downloaded mp3, then you should at least note it in your review.
But it will not change the fact, that this kind of review is insufficient.

No no no no no!! There's no "forcing" here. These are requests, not demands. There's no blackmail, hostages, or anything similar involved. So now we see that aside from some foreign object occupying space in your rectal cavitity, there's either room enough for your head as well or your head's small enough to fit in. That's bad news either way. Furthermore, I'd like to see you enforce people to make note of a downloaded album's review.

In closing, do this. Discern between reviews of owned albums and downloaded, by reading the review and nothing more. Wait a minute, you can't.

Fact my ass.

And since you can't get enough I'll tell you yet again:
Shut the fuck up.

And since I can regardless of its status as public domain: Get the fuck out of my thread.

Well that's something to say. Thank you for the feedback but this comment strikes me a bit off... (Further on it later).

Black metal is definitely NOT my thing, out of the hundreds of albums I've listened to I think there is three bands I highly enjoy. My reviews for black metal are shit I admit it. Atleast I tried. (as you can see I've also given up. :) ).

But to say you think I've downloaded everything I have reviewed... wow! I own 249 CDs, I own over 2,000 MP3s (purchased downloads) and yes I admit I have downloaded a lot. *looks back at what I reviewed* I own the actual CDs of exactly half of what I have reviewed.

Beee haaaa! That's my reply. :P

Hmmm... I would like to see any of my last 3 CD projects reviewed. The exposure would be beneficial to all involved, and it might expose the Metal masses here on this board to a new, independent, and crushingly good new musical experience? THanks in advance.

In order of preference: Deep Horizon (BRAND NEW CD!), Inferno and Virtuality by yours truly, Scott Mosher.

$15? Sorry, little excessive.

Huh? I suppose you are talking pricing for a CD? Well, a $10 CD shipped from the US to overseas for $15 is actually fairly cheap. Did I miss something though? I thought it was a good deal for 60 minutes of professionally-produced and package music (16-page color booklet) mailed over seas. Isn't that actually kinda cheap? In my experience it is, but ordering in bulk saves not just a few bucks.

Regardless, was I on (no pun) the money here with your reference?

No, paying $15 just to do someone a favour of a review is a little excessive.

Thats a ridiculous statement. A CD is 60-minutes of music, atleast mine are. They aren't product to be reviewed, they are, like anything you buy in the store for MORE money and sometimes less QUALITY, a listening experience.

I suppose it would an entirely different story if I was a major label act selling my CD for $20 worldwide?

I either missed your point or entirely disagree with your line of commentary. No where is it indicated you are buying a CD to review. Of course, getting critiques, reviews, comments and whatnot is a beneficial aspect, but GENERALLY institutions and people that do reviews get FREE PROMO copies.

Care to elaborate?

Hell, if you want someone to review your album, I'll do it. PM me if you want me to.

On another note, I've been thinking of doing two or three reviews this week if I get enough time away from schoolwork and track practice. Here's the albums I'm thinking about...
Deathspell Omega - Si Monumentum
Gorgoroth - Twilight of the Idols
Graveland - Drunemeton (headache...)
Graveland - Thousand Swords
Graveworm - (N)topia
Katatonia - For Funerals to Come
Katatonia - Last Fair Deal Gone Down
Sigh - Imaginary Sonicscape
Also, if there's anything on my collection that you want to see reviewed, let me know.

I was planning on the two Morte Incandescente albums, The Funeral Orchestra might fit in there. I have five or six reviews that need to be completed anyway.

No one has reviewed Summoning-Oath Bound yet and I don't have the enough writting skills to put in paper how great it is. So, yeah, someone qualified needs to do it.

here's a small simple 45 minute album i'd like reviewed.

Motorhead - Snake Bite Love

i found the current 2 reviews averaging out to 85% to be misleading when i acquired the album. and this needs to be fixed! but Love For Sale is a great song.... so take time out of your music listening period to put up a single review that will leave one little MA user feeling bright, fulfilled, and boner prone.

if somebody gets around to it, pm me and let me know.

I'd really be interested in some Satanic Slaughter reviews.

I'm only recently becoming interested in this band and would like some educated comments but their only reviews are 2 for the Early Years compilation.

I've been listening to Banished To The Underworld with some regularity but I'm not even going to try to review it because I simply have little to no knowledge of BM and I wouldn't do it justice.

I would be interested in seeing a well-written review for Agalloch - Pale Folklore that doesn't praise it to death. Curently 10 reviews with an average of 99%. Needs another point of view.

I could review Pale Folklore, as I did The Mantle last week, but

- I myself think it's a good album, quite better than The Mantle, (I'd rate it around 85%) so my opinion won't certainly really differ from other reviewers'
- I gave it to my brother a few weeks ago and I surely won't get it back before at least next month
- most important of all, you're asking for a GOOD REVIEW so I don't think I'm the man ;)

I'd like to see some Dew-Scented reviews, the ones on there aren't all that great (blitzed the worse one I saw), and the older records are completely ignored. And don't forget the Megadeth request.

Hey, I'm in a band in Dublin (Ireland) called Nihil. We just released a demo today that you can download here. We're an interesting and original black metal band, and we're really interested in getting some feedback on our stuff. If anyone has a chance, we'd really appreciate it if someone gave our stuff a listen and told us what they think.
