Last time I talked to him (few weeks ago), he was spending most of his time working and doing outdoorsy shit. When he does have free Interweb time, he spends it trolling WYHT.

I don't think it can be called trolling anymore....

Scratch that, he, Kyle, Clanny, and Nicki committed mass account suicide. Osmium stayed because he's a colossal faggot with nothing else to do, besides make out with his girlfriend.

I know. Shut up.

Too bad none of you two are able to acknowledge brilliant ambient, even when it's presented to you on a silvery-plate, like it is with this release.

GoD's Goat Horns review is very nice, and crazpete's The Tenth Sub Level of Suicide review is fucking perfect.

By the way, I don't troll WYHT any more. The account is possibly the best fake account ever, though, which is why I don't want to close it.

You gave Anni WAY too much credit, and made both rampant Jew-bashing and Cradle of Filth fanboyism acceptable. BAD UKRANIAN! BAD!

Egregius's review of Apocalypse is probably the most entertaining to read so far.

All of Arsenic's reviews are pretty damn enjoyable, that is, if you're into old school thrash / black metal. http://www.metal-archives.com/userrevie ... me=Arsenic

A great review on this site is Satan's Penguins - Birds Of Darkness. I actually got the album after reading that review, and I love it :D

Any requiem99 review. Insightful and easily digested. One particular quote from GR No World Order always cracks me up.

"This is because Americans as a culture currently have no taste in music. I know because I live here. "

Too bad none of you two are able to acknowledge boring, gimmicky nonsense, even when it's presented to you on a silvery-plate, like it is with this release.

Reaper's Damnation review made me chuckle, even though I happen to like Opeth (not a fanboy). The only problem is that there isn't a whole lot of musical description, however its worth reading for the comdey factor alone. This part in particular:

Quote:
They fail to capture the listener’s attention and concentration throughout this album. They miss to produce anything remotely interesting, kind of like when stars will miss each other when the Andromeda galaxy collides with the Milky Way Galaxy in 5 billions years… oh sorry, I was reviewing an Opeth album, my concentration kind of wandered off.

 Thanks. That was perhaps my first review in which I used a comedic approach. I pretty much had to as the album was so horrid. I couldn't describe the music further than I did, as it was SOOOO boring. I guess some more description could have been useful, but I think I got the message across. I will make a note of it though. Thanks for the compliment. :)

This album lacks everything that would make an album enjoyable. It has no direction, it has no depth, it has no feeling, it has no musical redeeming factor whatsoever. Opeth fanboys would argue against this. They would say “But it’s so atmospheric, it’s so deep and you just can’t see the beauty behind their art, they are a different type of band, don’t hate them for it. Can you not see the feelings in the songs?” This is just idiotic, as this album has none of these whatsoever, but “tries” to make it appear like it does. Opeth fanboys are easily deceived by this shitty band into thinking that this is actually true.

Going by that it seems as though if I made a valid argument for liking this album I'd be ignored and labelled as a "fanboi". Sorry, if I've misconstrued what you've written.

There is a fundamental difference between fact and opinion. Proclaimed facts: this is the best album ever, this album is one of the best albums ever, this is the best Opeth album ever, this album is instumentally excellent, this album is genius, this album is good because Opeth is a different kind of band with a different appraoch, this album is atmospheric and deep, this album is a good buy, this album should be owned by every metal fan. These false facts can also be called opinions yet an opinion is somewhat different from false facts as they are not claiming anything, only expressing their opinions. Opinion: this album is pleasurable to listen to, this album is easy to fall asleep to, this album is beautiful, this album is awesome.
Fanboys think that their false facts are real facts. Some things cannot be argued against.

Well, some of the comments you made are just as bad as theirs ;) No point arguing about it though.

My favourite band? Are you implying you something sinister or you actually want to know? I don't really abide by the theory of having a favourite band. But, if you must review something I'd suggest Kreator, Vio-lence or Heathen to get a rough estimate of my current tastes..

That review sucked pure ass. Maybe it was funny (not to me it wasn't) but as a review it was fucking horrible. What album was he reviewing, that pop album or In Flames?

I'd have to agree. That review was more annoying to read than a pleasure. It wasn't funny to me, either.

The thing that's so funny about that album is the fact that he thinks that Whoracle is so shitty that he reviews it side-by-side with some 80s Pop Queen nobody remembers. It's an absurd comparison to make, and in that absurdity there is comedy.

Wow, now that I've analyzed it in-depth and thereby killed it, let's go back to our regularly scheduled programming.

See, thats his opinion, but he fails to say exactly why it is that shitty. I didn't get the impression he was really trying to review the album, only make fun of it.

Factually it isn't thye most solid review; that's true. But I think what he's going for there is originality and memorability, and there's enough analysis in there to present it as a valid review. I mean, my most famous review is probably my Number of the Beast one, but I certainly wouldn't call it my most factually descriptive one.
