why is it that when ever I click a link posted in any thread on this site it takes me directly to the site instead just opening up a separate window? I find it really annoying, is there a way this can be fixed? most message boards aren't set this way

It's part of the forum's software, I'm afraid... to my understanding, there's not much that can be done to change it. :\

I always hated this as well, I just started right clicking and pressing open in a new window/tab

Condition yourself to middle-click every single link you want to open. Problem solved.

Temporary fix if you use a mouse a click of the centre roller button will open it in a new tab.
