I don't know if this has been suggested yet, but every time I look at an artist on MA, it says something like Death metal (early) and raw black metal (later). This is fine and all, but it's rather vague. I believe that albums should be categorized by genre within the artist just to see 1.) What genre it actually is, and 2.) To see when the artist decided to go another path.

I don't know whether I'm making an ass of myself and this has been suggested many times, and people are working on it right now, but it's worth a shot to raise some awareness.
