I didn't find the answer I'm looking for in the Rules/FAQ and the Search wasn't really helpful either, so here I am. As I recall, it was allowed to add an online release to a band's discography if it had cover art. The question is, though, do I recall this correctly or are all online releases unacceptable, or..? The particular case I'm thinking of is a band on here with a few physical releases and one online release including cover art. It can be downloaded for free, although one can donate for it as well. Is that acceptable for submission?

Yes, you can add official online-only releases if the band in question is already accepted (i.e. has prior physical releases).
