Is this really predominantly metal? I know they identify as slam, but it mostly sounds like riffless chugging to me. They almost sound like a really crappy version of an unacceptable deathcore band like Brand of Sacrifice or something.

The War of the Angels - Black Metal band, a user has flagged the band for deletion. Apparently the EP/demo is a bootleg release.
They have provided a screenshot of a conversation with the musician who makes up TWOTA. Link for conversation image listed in report.

Their only studio album, New Found Power, leans closer to nu/alternative metal than just pure groove metal (at least to my ears). I hear metal riffs but I'm not so sure if they're predominate. Some songs sound closer to Slipknot than they do to Pantera, so I wanted to ask about if they can be re-evaluated as I don't believe it's unambiguously metal.

Edit: adding the link to the album as stated in the rules

Very borderline but passable. The genre was changed to groove/nu-metal.

Is it really significant name difference from "Down Syndrome"? The band's name in Russian is just using Cyrillic and having a few letter difference.

Any mod can take a look at this? Cause either Mesías should be nuked, or Griefgod re-submitted and accepted.

Not sure if this band is a selected exception, but the band Operation Mindcrime doesn't sound predominantly metal to me. Obviously, the band is relevant in the sense that they resulted from Queensryche firing Geoff Tate, but if they are a selected exception, I think that the page should be updated to say progressive/hard rock to avoid any misunderstandings. There could also be a note that says that they are an exception.

I was also curious about this band:

https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ar ... 3540294499
https://arsonanthem.bandcamp.com/album/arson-anthem

Sounds like straight up hardcore to me. If they were included as an exception I think it would make more sense to change the page to just say "Hardcore Punk".

From what I see it was accepted for being metal enough. I checked it and it's not particularly good music but for the means and purposes of this site I'd agree it's metal enough to be listed here.

This is quite ironic considering there are a number of bands who have been rejected because there was no proof of physical demos.
yet this unknown band with an elusive demo that NOBODY has seen or heard of is being accepted simply because... some dude said it?

The above post puts in question all the bands that got accepted based solely on a release on Catholic Metal because this is not actually a label but apparently an archiving Bandcamp page. There are several bands to look into:
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Serviam/3540539477
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Pr ... 3540538049
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Sa ... 3540539346
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Mercy/3540538449

https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/El ... 3540538452
https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/E ... ta/1208897
All these bands need verification of a valid release, probably they should all be removed.
Also all the releases on this "label" should be marked as unofficial.

Yeah that's it. Seems pretty illigitimate by MA standards

Just curious which of these releases was deemed predominantly metal? I've gone through most of them multiple times and I am having a hard time believing any of them are considered acceptable by the site's standards. Thanks!
