Deleted Merankorii and Abysma. Both (dark) ambient.

I was curious as to why Scott Hull's solo project was removed, it wasn't metal in the first place so why now? Just cleaning up? Thanks!

That's weird, I searched before posting and this didn't come up. Thanks though!

It's not a rule, it's a guideline. Other factors about a digital release are also considered, most importantly general professionalism.

I contacted them ages ago about their debut Ep if it is physical or not aiming to submitt them, but here was the answer from one of their members:

Hi Yuri =),
Thank you very much for your kind words, it's good to hear.
Unfortunately, this particular EP is not available in physical format, for a number of reasons. Hopefully though, the next record will be available for purchase in CD format. We will begin the new recordings pretty soon, probably, so stay tuned. Thanks for your support. =)

Heathen hails,
Grimner

I checked their myspace likely if they announced anything new about their record, but still only digital.
http://www.myspace.com/grimnerswe

So we must wait until their second release and maybe.

Coprobaptized Cunthunter (Russia) doesn't sound that close to Last Days of Humanity. It falls more in the Slam Metal style that happened to evolve out of Brutal Tech Death bands a few years back.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GOGlrajhznM

They're more similar to Extermination Dismemberment or Abominable Putridity which are of course on the site.

Dark Ambient is an aspect to Black Metal but the farther away from Black Metal it is, the less pure metal it becomes.

For instance Ministry is an Industrial Metal band which is close to KMFDM which is basically MDFMK which is more industrial than Metal but all share that aspect.

Why are you bringing this up? The band has since made several other releases?? Are you questioning them???

Sar Isatum have been submitted minutes ago. Though the release date of their album is 17th of November, their bandcamp page still says it's pre-order at the moment (https://sarisatum.bandcamp.com/releases). Officially, I don't find the album on iTunes, or Spotify, or anywhere else to download. But there's streaming on Souncloud (https://soundcloud.com/sarisatum). Is it already legit enough to submit (i.e. the official streaming)?

Yeah, plus they were eventually re-evaluated and added in 2012.

GenerationDead, what exactly are you doing? Please only post in this thread if it's regarding a band you think should be deleted (and don't respond to year-old issues, it's pointless and confusing).

He submitted right on the official release date (17 Nov.) but yeah, the album is still pre-order, doesn't available completely to be purchased yet.

Hi,

the release wasn't exclusive from Bandcamp, my band submission was made based on Amazon:

This is my band. It should be removed from this site because physical demo is only 12. I think it's not enough.
The user who added it probably have evidence that says demo CD was made 30 copies. But it's totally wrong. I made it by myself and it was only 12 copies. The guy who claims from the band and said that CD made 30 is a liar. He has been fired from the band.
Also we made only single demo. There is no other releases after that.

Defreasis' submission of this band is acceptable. It is a small number of copies, but it it a valid release.

Yes Zodi, Defreasis is the user who submitted it. Small number of copies are only 12 copies. I am from the band who made that CD, and very sure that was only 12.
I'm here just want to say the truth. If you say 12 copies is acceptable, then it's ok.

I doubt this is an acceptable release. Seems like a myspace band, and you cannot find much info on the demo anywhere. There isn't even cover art.

Hard to say. Myspace and Purevolume are dead as far as a reliable source goes these days. But I found this on a dead blog:
http://metal-to-the-metals.blogspot.dk/ ... n-you.html

I'm thinking there was a demo that was metal enough, but it might be questionable whether it would have qualified as digital release, or if there was a cd version of it. Still, at this point I think there's enough to keep them here. Benefit of the doubt.

I managed to find contact info for a member, and asked them directly about it. I am also going to do some digging about DarknightmarE's other submission, because it seems pretty questionable, as well. Especially, if the only releases are those that which are on that PureVolume.

Quick response. There were "some" copies made of the More Than You demo. Perhaps someone can get rid of that watermark and add that cover art? I can change format to "CD".

Removing the top watermark without messing with the artwork is impossible. So the question is whether to use it as is or not. Also, you could add the line-up, Grim.

I was getting there. I had some of my own submissions to tidy up and my internet has been going in and out. Looking to see if the contact has the image without the watermark, but I find that doubtful, as he did not have much of anything from that time to offer me but a history lesson.

If I get anything, I'll send it your way, Antioch.

Good digging! A bad artwork is still better than none at all, and can easily be replaced later if needed.

Mother Depth doesn't sound very metal, more like gothy rock with some Sentenced tendencies. The only samples I can find are on their webpage. Our Orchard especially sounds almost exactly like old Tenhi, i.e. not metal at all.

You may have a point, but since there's five albums and only scattered sampling, I can hardly delete them based on that. For what it's worth, I'll be on the lookout for the albums.

As a moderator at the time, his draft was auto-approved, since we assume a certain level of trustworthiness and transparency from staffers, among other things. EC has recently been let go due to a lack of those very attributes and thus this entry does not stand up to scrutiny. Regrettably, all of his band additions should be double-checked, really.

Quis Ut Deus: https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Qu ... 3540429143

Both releases are too raw/experimental to be added as digital-only. He claimed there was a cassette version for the first demo, but only after I filed a report about it, and he never mentioned sources. I also tried to Google "Quis ut Deus" alongside some of the song titles, and didn't find anything online by myself, either.

I'm not going to comment on the validity of the music, though it seems ok to me, i will say that i skimmed the first demo and i don't see anything wrong. It's well long enough and they quality is fine.

Just a couple days ago I got a reply in "why was band x blacklisted", telling me this was too low of quality to be submitted. Wouldn't really make sense (to me anyway) to allow a much rawer submission like Quis Ut Deus then. I'm not trying to argue this or anything, but I am definitely confused.

It was accepted based on a physical release - the demo tape. The band entry wasn't flagged as "accepted as digital-only" and the tape version was added 33 minutes after the band was added to the site. This isn't a point of comparison for the other band.

Oh, if the tape version is being counted as valid, then that makes more sense. I was setting aside the tape version (and assumed you and EoH were doing the same) since we were calling that specific kind of information into question (". . . did not include any evidence in the submission or moderator notes, nor did he ever share his sources"). But yeah, if you decided to count the tape in this case, that's fair.

Why has been Boia (https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Boia/3540431765) already accepted 12 hours ago? Though the official release date of their EP is 12/15/17, it is still listed as pre-order on "Caligari's" webshop (http://caligarirecords.storenvy.com/) or bandcamp (https://caligarirecords.bandcamp.com/al ... th-cd-tape).
