Was the demo CD really released in June? Wanted to submit the band some days ago, saw the photo with the price but then saw their comment

Raven Eye
Not the best name choice but killer Death Metal like it was in the early 90ies! What do you have available for sale??
- Necropsy Thanks! Nothing at the moment unfortunately. Everything should be coming soon.

"I see that you guys are wrapping up a debut "Endless Aggression." Will I be able to order it on CD at some point? Extremely keen."
- Necropsy We're having cassettes made very soon. Not sure about CD's though.

Where are those comments from? It looks pretty released here.

I've asked the band.

EDIT: Got an answer:
Quote:
Those were the first run cd copies. The lp and cassette are coming later this year.

Mallcore/nu-metal. It's sort of like Hatebreed but with more chugging and the shouting is a bit more like rapping.

They were approved in 2007, so based on this album:
http://www.myspace.com/clipundergroundc ... p-16749988

Their 2009 album is a bit more hardcore/metalcore, but still much closer to mallcore. That's also on their MySpace page.

Was this deemed acceptable? Seems to have been pushed onto the previous page by discussion of other bands.

Still wondering about Judgement Day, as it's been over a month since anyone's mentioned anything on the band.

Judgement Day is gone as well. I've listened to the latest album in its entirety and checked out Ribos' samples from the other albums. Agreed on all counts.

Deleted Vàli from Norway. Obviously not metal and it's not really an acceptable side-project.

Deleted Exhaled Life (from the USA). Riffless, limp-wristed attempt at DSBM that relied more on vocal distortion and annoying piano medleys to produce atmosphere. Absolutely no idea how it managed to sneak into the site...

EDIT: Also deleted Sippenorden. No real instruments; the guitars are programmed.

That is obviously a guitar sound in some lame synth! How could you ever allow this on this site? Thankfully it has been removed now!

Deleted "Zazas Zazas Nasatanada Zazas" from Poland. Absolutely fuck-all evidence the band really exists, and the only mention of the band is on the label's website, who conveniently "sold out" the last of the releases in early 2009 (between January - February... all 266 copies, apparently). Coupled with the fact there's no cover art, NO samples, and absolutely NO rip of it anywhere online... at all, I can't help doubting the project's authenticity.

Nothing stacks up. And I find it really, really, really hard to believe all copies could've miraculously sold-out in less than a month. Especially when there's no music to convince people how outrageously awesome it must be.

Wrong, dude...The band was obviously accepted based on their early outputs, which is listed here as the 'Negative' album in the add. notes, dating back to 2005. If you check for samples from that particular album in the bandzone link, you'll know. Totally acceptable.

Does Serotonal qualify as a side-project, or is it accepted based on the demo? I'd say it's metalness is very dubious based on the EP and full-length. The EP is atmospheric rock, and the full-length is nu-metal/rock. I can upload EP and album if needed.

Why is the band 'The White God' http://www.metal-archives.com/band/view/id/3540348011 here? I presume there was proof of release submitted with the band, but the band page is the only reference I can find to the demo on the internet. When proof of release is submitted with a band, I guess it would be nice if that was added in the additional notes.

It was released on the label, War Doctrine, but this label has closed:
http://www.wardoctrine.com/

Adding the links in this case would add links to broken webpages. They are preserved in the submission notes, though.

I misinterpreted the CD thing, thought today pre-orders ended and the things would get sent out. Well, my bad.

Akhenaton

This band is largely ambient than symphonic black metal. On this youtube page you can listen to the whole 1995 album. Only the last part of track 3, part of track 7 & 9 can be called metal (not symphonic), all other tracks are far from being metal. The songs from the other two releases are also included in this album.

That band was added in 2005, while that album you mention was released in 2012. Unless you can provide evidence to the contrary, the mods would have to assume that the self-titled album mentioned in the additional notes is the band's proof of metalness.

^ Correct. There appears to be a self-titled album, but unfortunately it's not on CD Baby.

I've deleted In Crucem Agere. No proof of a physical release, or at the very least one that's seen the required level of distribution.

Deleted Petit Éléphant Bleu after seeing a wrong genre report, the current genre seemed suspicious so I checked their debut EP and... yeah, post rock, ambient, some shrieking but not metal at all. Shame on you Piotr :P

Deleted 13th Moon; apparently the tape is only privately distributed between people, and the "official release" by the label is scheduled for January 2013.

We ended up discussing that submission in chat, and came to the conclusion that works that derive their songs from traditional folk songs are not so dissimilar from those that derive their works from classical music, christmas carols, and the same ilk. Based on that, in principle (and certainly not always the case) a "cover" - for the purposes of this site - could be defined as a piece of work covering a contemporary, copyrighted work.

Case in point: http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Storm/1026

Not sure how I'd deal with classical covers though. They aren't usually copyrighted or contemporary, but the authors are known (they are often lost to time for traditional folk songs) and it's not quite the same thing... I dunno, never thought this through.

I certainly wouldn't accept an ordinary cover-only band of contemporary songs, that's for sure. I'm okay with bands that make metal versions of traditional folk music. Not sure what to think of classical.

so i guess Ahti can be restored?

The demo consists of metal 'covers' of Finnish folk songs:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lxf-G1_DvhY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3d4oNmUbGM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR9v9G5E3go
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ay9RNAx-Qs

Third song by Ahti not on youtube, but 'cover' of this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25WDgzasAaA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-L8hi8u_DY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqAesTWPdzM

I am not sure if the last two tracks are covers. Christmas Goat isn't metal and Haluvilu Vei is not mostly metal. Here is a link to the full demo:

Targeted by an old, forgotten Soviet missile silo in the Mühlviertel hill land and nuked.
