And it IS an insignificant name change. They dropped the Lamderth part and that was it. It's STILL the same band playing the same genre with the same members that were already in the band BEFORE they shortened their name. Hell, even the new logo looks very similar to the original. There's no need for a new page. Just adding the name to the alternate spelling field will suffice.

Take Rhapsody of Fire for instance: Originally named Thundercross, they changed it to Rhapsody. Which is significant enough of a name change. Then they decided to start sucking and added "of Fire" to their original name. "Rhapsody of Fire" is an insignificant name change.

Just like the Saurom situation, just backwards.

@Verd: Assessing "significant" name changes has always been a hard-to-pin-down thing. We've never really had a consistent metric shared among all mods throughout the years (though I remember attempting to hammer out one a long time ago). This stuff certainly isn't written down anywhere (a passing mention in the rules aside). Some of the very broad guidelines are change in sound, difference in name (phrase-level modifications of the original generally don't warrant a new entry on their own, neither do abbreviations or translations) and noticeable discontinuities in the lineup/activity/etc. You're bound to find a lot of listed entries that seem to defy these criteria, because as I said, this has hardly been enforced consistently over the years and my impression is that it used to be far more lenient in the site's early days.

If you think an entry should either be merged or split, and aren't sure if it's warranted, the best approach at the moment would be to make a report and let a moderator make the call.

Saurom looks like a clear case of one entry being enough.

If this blacklist was because of the lack of "metalness", this should be reviewed.

There was a change in the line-up that was followed by a significant change in sound, which is Melodic Death Metal with some Power Metal influences now.

Blacklist Appeal: Erdve (Lithuania), May 17, 2018

The blacklist for this band was appealed a year ago, with the reason being they were post-hardcore.

Since then, the band has removed their previous material and released a debut album on Season of Mist.

After listening to it, I can certainly say this blackened sludge metal/hardcore. They sound like Amenra and Senior Fellows had one angry, angry baby. While the hardcore influence is strong, the vast majority of riffs and grooves on this album are low/mid tempo with sludge's signature half-time snare that it shares with doom.
