That wouldn't be a valid standalone digital release in any event.

BESTA (Portugal)

https://besta.bandcamp.com/album/filhos-do-grind-2016

Why is this still blacklisted?

This is Grindcore with Sludge Metal in it. Just listen to tracks like Vermes or Requiem Macabro

It was blacklisted in 2012 so we'll have to check this out.

I tried to post the band SEDE VACANTE from Greece and it says that it is blacklisted, although it's a metal band, they have a full length album, they have world wide release from pride and joy music (Germany), distributed online by Amazon, iTunes, the have official videos etc... Why is that?

Is this enough ?

Little confused how A Different Breed of Killer got blacklisted, their debut from 2008 is definitely a metal album

would anyone consider listening to this and forming a second opinion?

Hi,
amateur production and more hardcore/punk than metal.

A link to purchase a release on Amazon would be sufficient yeah. So long as it meets the other criteria, post the link here and which band are you talking about?

Seems too be more on the -core side than the death side to me. I'm not really feelin this one dude, sorry. If anybody else wants to chime in, go for it.

Oh whoops, not sure how I managed to mix their name up with another band I'd recently searched that -was- blacklisted, I'll try a submission then. Thanks anyway.

Now we have released a new album (digital format ~33 mins ) and we shifted our genre towards a more metal sound we play goregrind/grindcore/pornogore.

Maybe with this release we can be released from the blacklist, please check it out.

This irks me a bit...
I looked up one of my favorite Heavy Metal bands Helix (Canada), but couldn't find them
so I tried to post it myself--
only to find it was blacklisted.

I read the rules for posting a band, and I know Helix had, from 1979/80 to 1990, predominantly heavy metal albums (White lace and black leather, No Rest For The Wicked, Walkin' The Razor's Edge, etc...)
I don't know what they do now, but they've some pretty good and heavy stuff. Their most notable songs "Heavy Metal Love" and "Rock You" should be recognizable.

I love this band to death, and they deserve the metal title. If for some reason, this website blacklists bands from Canada or something, then so be it. But Helix cannot be discredited as a non-Heavy Metal band.

(If you really aren't convinced.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw-Hh-5z1J0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuXGq6wYCbc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xh8mZ05OYSM )

Breaking Loose (79’): Typical late 70's Hard Rock. Not metal.
White Lace & Black Leather (81'): Classic Hard Rock. Some NWOBHM inspired stuff like the ending of “Long Distance Heartbreak”. But overall not metal.
No Rest For The Wicked (83'): primarily hard rock with hardly any heavy metal riffs.
Walkin' The Razor's Edge (84'): harder than the previous one. First half of the album is pure hard rock. There is some borderline stuff in the second half of the album, but overall (and considering all eleven songs) it's clearly glam/hard-rock.

Fish Sticks wrote:

No.

Fish Sticks wrote:

I will confirm you that it was correctly blacklisted as a hard rock band. Surely there's some metal, but they don't have a predominant heavy metal album (not even close!).
This is the case with a lot of hard rock bands from the 70's and the 80's. Again, we don't make decisions based on individual songs, only albums in it's entirety.

Breaking Loose and White Lace and Black Leather were predominantly hard rock, I do agree;
but to confidently say No Rest For The Wicked and Walkin' The Razors edge is "just glam and hard rock" breaks my heart, man.
Heavy metal has existed since the very late 60's, and I know 70's Heavy Metal is way lighter than succeeding 80's NWOBHM and Prog. metal, Thrash, etc.. by comparison,
but Heavy Metal is only a few steps up above Hard Rock. A lot of Helix is hard rock, but I, and almost all of Canada could agree, that in '83 and '84, they were Heavy Metal.
I understand that especially for their time, they were lagging behind-- bands like Anthrax and Megadeth were emerging when Helix was only starting to become Heavy Metal.
Yeah, they weren't "metal" enough by that days standards, and they certainly aren't "metal" enough now, but what i'm trying to say is-- they would have been metal enough in the mid 70's,
they definitely easily would have been Heavy Metal. Just because Metal evolves, doesn't make songs that are lighter metals (Heavy metal being the lightest..) not metal anymore, but Helix had a strong mid-70's classic Heavy Metal thing going on in the mid 80's.

Please do reconsider your opinions of Helix. I understand that it is looked down upon to compare bands to bands, but if you really analyzed Helix and got down to the bare bones of it, you'd see how well they compare to other Heavy Metal bands of the day in the 70's, (the only problem I see is that they were Heavy Metal in the mid 80's.)
You cannot do Canada an injustice like this... Maybe Helix is just poprock now, and maybe they were hard rock in the late 70's and early 80's, but by their third and fourth album, for a short period of time, they were Heavy Metal, albeit a bit late.

Hello, I want to know why Screams Of Hate has been blacklisted? I just can think one reason: they are not metal but to me the sound of screams of hate is very heavy, thanks for attention and sorry for anything.

My band IMPALED CUNTS has been blacklisted for a while, and we are aware that we were not metal during our first demos, but now we play Grind Death Metal .

Now we have released a new Split Cd (digital format) and we shifted our genre towards a more metal sound.

Maybe with this release we can be released from the blacklist, please check it out.

Blacklisted in 2014 for basically being nu-metal. Has there been a full-length release since that's more metal?

Sounds like non-metal gore/grind and besides, unless there are physical copies as well, none of these qualify as a valid release.

This band Kurse (not the same 2 on Metal-Archives, already), I came across this afternoon. It truly feels "doom" to me... have asked a friend's opinion, he doesn't think it's heavy enough to qualify to add on here. So, I told him, I don't know, I probably should ask on the forums to make sure.

Here is the link to their Bandcamp page: https://kurseband.bandcamp.com/album/ta ... -wizard-ep

Is it o.k. to add this band, or not? They have not been blacklisted, but I didn't want to waste a Mods time by trying to submit them, if they wouldn't be allowed. So, I hope that it is o.k. to ask here first?

Hi there,

Could someone please re-evaluate the band Fake (Brazil)?

Hello, I want to know why Screams Of Hate has been blacklisted? I just can think one reason: they are not metal but to me the sound of screams of hate is very heavy, thanks for attention and sorry for anything.

Blacklisted in 2014 for basically being nu-metal. Has there been a full-length release since that's more metal?

Yes, a full length entitled Neorganic released in December of 2016
