I made some posts earlier in the main thread about this band that went neglected (here and here), so I thought I'd raise the issue again since I believe it's worth it. Why isn't Hatebreed in the archives? They're easily "metal enough", easily as metal as early Machine Head and much moreso than As I Lay Dying, All Shall Perish, The Exploited, iwrestledabearonce and many other bands that "made it" in. Their staple riffs are pretty much midpaced thrash riffs, although they do have many faster songs (e.g. Defeatist), and make heavy use of the standard thrash beats and d-beats prevalent in crossover. I mean, for fuck's sake, Sworn Enemy are in the Archives and they sound almost exactly like Hatebreed. I hope a fair judgement can be given to Hatebreed because I hate to see all of Zarach 'Baal' Tharagh's demos getting posterity in the Archives while a more legitimate act is left out in the cold.

As for what genre label they would fit in, I would suggest something like Hardcore/Groove Metal/Half-Thrash although that sounds kind of awkward. Maybe reduce it just to Hardcore/Groove Metal.

Post some links of Hatebreed songs from albums you consider to be Metal enough. I myself am interested to see if they are actually metal
