The main website randomly went from dark mod, to light mode for some reason. I have looked, and found no settings about 'light mode' and 'dark mode'. The white screen is very unpleasant to look at. Is there a way to fix this?

I don't like it either. If you're using a PC you could install a Dark Mode extension on your browser.

Have you tried restarting your computer?

I actually really enjoy this change. Speaking as someone that has mild to severe astigmatism, dark mode websites including MA have always been difficult for me to look at for long periods of time. I think this is a really great accessibility change and I appreciate that the MA staff are taking people into consideration when designing their website!

Yup. After their pranks in previous years, I was ready for anything when I logged on today.

Today, I actually came here for the April Fools' joke ("I Want My Joke!! Now!!"). Then I saw the light mode thing and the blue coloured links and thought: "Is that…it?"

Is that…it? If yes, well, the needle on my fun-o-meter hasn't moved yet. I was hoping for something different, e.g. some newly added invented bands complete with histories, discographies, song titles, lyrics and even reviews. For example: the Norwegian piano bm band Æltonjøn.

I looks beautiful. Metal is so bright music. So much love & light in it!

PS. I still cannot find a heart emoji.

Could be a memory issue; the dark mode puts a lot of extra workload on systems displaying such sites, that some machines can't handle. Try downloading more RAM. https://downloadmoreram.com/

I'm no IT specialist, but pressing Alt + F4 solved the issue for me...

EDIT: Fixed, dark mode working on all my devices now.

Try clearing your cache. It was still on the light theme for me on my laptop but clearing my cache fixed it.

EDIT: Nvm clearing my cache didn't work on my phone.

Can the genius who thought that this is actually a cool April 1 joke tell us how to actually revert the site back to "normal mode" on PC. And no this is not another joke. I already tried to clear cookies/history without success.

Hi friends, long time I don't come around here, I was chilling last night blasting some Incubus thrash when I noticed this marvelous "white light" mode in the principal forum, (it is normal black on my phone anyways) Reading the comments I seriously doubt it was intended to be like that, but I'm seriously enjoying this colorful layout and wanted to thanks / greet anyways and ask if this can be modified in the future like customizing at ease the layout?

It is back to normal. You may need to clear your cache on the browser before the site appears as it should.

Ohhhhhh is back to normal yes, Deri with no intentions to persist a lot, is it possible to get the white overlay again for people who likes it like myself? Maybe in options?

Have you ever had an experience when something (web page, network, or application) is clearly and blatantly fucked up and not working on your computer...but for the guy next to you, it works perfectly fine?

I almost wanted to be that guy who chimed in "Nope... Metal Archives is working perfectly, and the site looks the same as it always does." (followed by the classic:) "It Must Be Your Computer! (tm)"

However.... the main page was white for me too, and with comic sans-serif font. Now, however it is back to normal.
