I was wondering if it'd be feasible to add a tab next to "Related Links" that says "Not to be confused with" as a solution to the semi-cluttered way we add those to the main page.

I was actually thinking something like this recently.

That's a good idea. If such a tab is instated, there should be an option to add bands to that list that aren't on the site, along with a brief note/reference link in some cases to help differentiate and keep the record straight. The change would look neater on the page, but I wonder how often the tab would be noticed vs. having other bands listed right there at the top as a reminder to a not-as-common user that's adding something into the discography how frequently these mix-ups happen.

This has never been a problem before, e.g. adding unlisted bands to artist pages, adding an unlisted band to a band's timeline, etc.


How about an automatic mod warning (similar to the one you get when trying to add a band with the same name from the same country)? When one hits the "add (a release)" button, a mod warning--triggered by the fact that the "Not to be confused with..." tab contains info--appears to draw the user's attention to the "Not to be confused with..." tab or the contents thereof.

It's not a bad idea, but likely not a priority for HB.
