Could we have a “Favorites” counter on band pages?

It would give users a simple way to credit their favorite bands - by having a button next to their name: “Add,” “Favorite,” “+”, etc.

It could create a simple fan generated metric to help rank or sort bands by popularity, with a new column in the “browse” pages.

Yeah popularity isn’t everything, it doesn’t make 1 band “better” than another, and everyone has their own tastes.

But having a fan counter for each band would bring a lot of utility to M-A, particularly when browsing by genre or country, allowing fans to sort by popularity/ ranking in addition to country. It would make the site more useful for discovering new bands that have been shown to be highly regarded by the fan base.

Not promoting elitism or anything, just wanting to find more bands in the genres we like with a quick sorting by popularity option. I did a quick search and didn’t see this topic. The reccomendations thread is engaging/ collaborative but it would be nice to have another option.
