*sigh* I check this thread too infrequently. As per usual, repost if there are any unanswered inquiries up to this point, it's becoming chaotic to sort out.

That's a digital single. Please read our rules on what constitutes a valid release. The blacklisting is in fact because someone (you?) wouldn't stop submitting the band despite them not qualifiying.

I would like to ask, when it was blacklisted exactly and if they could be black listed based on their new 2018 album, whicwhich imo is stoner metal in the vein of bands llike Kyuss, with a hearable Motörhead influence and more aggressive riffing than in the past. Whitelisted.

Hey, I just wanna ask why the doom metallers Wolvennest got blacklisted? I remember that I was adding it last year but it was rejected because it's "some doom metal, but mostly psych rock" but when you give listen to their new album Void and especially title song and L'Heure Noir (which is even featuring Alexander von Meilenwald from The Ruins of Beverast) it's clearly doom metal with some heavy riffs and black metal influences and the band therefore definitely should be here. Could you consider your last decision once more? It would be great to have this band here.

Here are the mentioned songs:

Heya! I have four other posts requesting that Ghostbound be re-evaluated but no one has answered me just yet. In any case, we play a brand of atmospheric metal with nods toward post punk, black metal, and a bit of prog. We are signed to ATMF/A Sad Sadness Song along with Forgotten Woods, Deadly Carnage, et cetera, and we just released our debut full-length. We fall into the realm of "post" black metal in the vein of Alcest, Heretoire, Vaura, et al. See "Roof and Wall" for reference to our perceived "metal-ness".

Thanks!

Apologies for the phlegmatic process. The blacklist note from June this year says it's primarily post-rock with few metal elements. I think it's more borderline than that note gives it credit for, but overall I agree that it's more focused on prog/post-rock than actual metal riffing.

Hi, I've just wanted to add a band Deathreat from Poland, but it turned out it is blacklisted. I suspect it comes to their "metalness" (?), but imo they play a mixture of death metal and d-beat and are metal enough for this site. Besides, their minialbum was released by a metal label and the band consists of some guys who play in other metal bands that are quite known in Poland (Terrordome, Mord'A'Stigmata, Blaze of Perdition).

This is not metal, blacklisting stands.

No, this is predominantly crust/hardcore.

Hey - was just going to submit my band, 3 Parts Dead, and got a message that we were blacklisted. Was just curious why that was? Could totally understand if based solely off of our first EP, but I would think our second, Master, would qualify. I'd invite you to give a listen to it at www.3partsdead.com or 3partsdead.bandcamp.com and reconsider.

Blacklisted in mid 2014 for being predominantly Rock-oriented. Have you released anything since that could warrant a reevaluation?

3 Parts Dead: Even if it was acceptable, that's only a short EP. As it is, it sounds more like stoner/hard rock anyway.

Anesthesia of Beer: Whitelisted.

Uhm.
I'm surprised the italian progressive metal band (often classified as ''gothic metal'' band, but isn't my opinion) Ravenscry isn't listed in this huge Encyclopaedia.
I found an old argument dated 2012 in this eternal topic, but isn't clear the reason they was banned.
Since then, they have released two more albums, and I'm considering them absolutely metal band with a personal style.

Look here : [ https://www.discogs.com/it/artist/2711174-Ravenscry ].

My favourite album is the second, ''The Attraction of Opposites''. Listen, for example, the songs :
the first track ''Luxury of a Distraction'' [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsdpVGA3Yjs&list=PLEFVinPL7Q-PJgk4SLbAUYqhTb-fiquaS&index=1 ],
the powerful ''The Big Trick'' [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rJh0eIxCuo&index=5&list=PLEFVinPL7Q-PJgk4SLbAUYqhTb-fiquaS ],
the symphonic ''Alive'' [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRsIF4ceuDM&index=4&list=PLEFVinPL7Q-PJgk4SLbAUYqhTb-fiquaS ] ...
and more.
{ U can find a lot of material in the official YouTube channel : [ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo0dFknrB9cPd84EP28R5-A ] }.

They was partecipating to several metal festival as Power Prog & Metal Fest at Mons (Belgium), Autumn Moon Festival at Hameln (Germany), Milady Metal Fest at Mantova (Italy) ...;
Just this year, they was supporting the Angra's Omni Tour 2018 (opening 12 live act in european big towns), and special guest in the Kobra and the Lotus Prevail Tour Europe 2018 (7 live acts + 3 last november, 2017).

Please check them, I think they aren't ''pop'' or ''dance'' at all.

;)

my group Noosefiller was understandably rejected after our debut, but our last two releases definitely warrant reconsideration, especially our new one, progressive black metal in the way of Thantifaxath and Gorguts https://noosefiller.bandcamp.com/album/noosefilller

Hi. I tried to add my band Conveyor, and it was rejected because there was existing one. I tried to do this earlier, but it was rejected too, and I accidentally deleted. After I tried to add it once again, there was an information that in the queue there is a Conveyor from Puławy, but I deleted this one and added once again, but that first version is deleted, and it not exist in my band list, so it can't exist in the queue too (in my opinion)! Can you explain me why this is happening?

I saw Dreadnought (US) last night and came to MA and was somewhat surprised they aren't here. They haven't been brought up in this thread since 2015, but they have a 2017 album which came across as predominantly progressive doom/black metal both when I heard it live and on the recording linked below. There are quieter prog-rock parts, but I think they're subservient to the parts driven by metal riffs and neither the main focus of the music nor the impression I left with after hearing it.

You can listen to it here: https://dreadnoughtdenver.bandcamp.com/ ... cred-waves

Creature from Texas was just rejected because the mod thought the physical release was unprofessional. I provided scans of the version I have. Yes, it is a CDr in a paper case with everything hand written. I am sure the information on the about section was overlooked. It says: "This album was self-released on black CDrs with xeroxed covers, some were handed out in folded and stapled paper with hand-written titles.". If you download the album a back cover is included. If this still isn't good enough I can contact Creature to get another CD with the actual covers, if he still has any left.

Hi Mods,

Last year I've submitted a band called Distant Dream https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Distant_Dream/3540428023.
This year, they have released a new material, which can be listened to below;
Your Own Story

It's still somewhere between post-rock and post-metal, but I can clearly hear sufficing metal riffing through the album, so it might be worth a reevaluation.

Please have a look and let me know whether I can resubmit the band or not. It's blacklisted at the moment.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds more prog/post-rock than metal. I'm not hearing much metal at all, actually.

Hi,

When was Brutal Pig from Mexico blacklisted? The guitar riff in their songs from 4-way split "4 States of Grind Vol. 3" which was released in 2016 sound acceptable goregrind to me. Can it be re-evaluated?

Could you re-evaluate Filth of Mankind from Poland?

Sounds like Doom/Thrash Metal with Crust influences. Pretty solid, dark and atmospheric.

Cayne's (blacklisted) new album has a clear metal edge on guitar riffs. For me they sound the same or at least much similar to Entwine, Fragilehollow, later Tiamat. I agree that some Love Metal features are present, but at least guitars (and drumming) are enough metal related. And no, they have nothing to do with gothic rock. Could they be reconsidered?

I was wondering why the band Oceano (Deathcore, United States) was blacklisted?

Hi,

When was Brutal Pig from Mexico blacklisted? The guitar riff in their songs from 4-way split "4 States of Grind Vol. 3" which was released in 2016 sound acceptable goregrind to me. Can it be re-evaluated?

All 6 tracks that appeared in the release mentioned above can be found here:

Sounds like the sort of goregrind we don't accept.

Hey, guys!

Could you re-evaluate Filth of Mankind from Poland?

Sounds like Doom/Thrash Metal with Crust influences. Pretty solid, dark and atmospheric.

I always assumed they were crust punk. Doom/thrash is pushing it, but this sounds like metallic enough stenchcore type of stuff. Definitely deserves another look, whitelisted.

The blacklisting says "Metallic modern rock". I think that still applies.

Curious why the experimental/industrial band GOD has been blacklisted. I get they're not pure metal as a lot of experimental stuff reaches into many non-metal categories, but I believe they have many qualities of metal within their music, enough so to qualify them as a metal band. Without going into specific comparisons as that's frowned upon here, there are plenty of experimental bands akin to GOD (some of which are also associated acts) that manage to make it onto the site, so I'm just confused why this one doesn't. Not that it'll ruin my day if the band is never on the site, but still, seems a bit odd that they've been as far as blacklisted.
