ManDown, the digital release looks okay, but the music sounds like hardcore with growls more often than not. Though I'm not sure, I'd certainly like input from other staffers.

Trust me, I listen to hardcore, and this isn't it :) it has elements, that's for sure, but it's NOT purely hardcore. But I won't argue with you, if you can accept it - great ;)

Thanks! Still on the blacklist though, at least if I put their country as Belgium.

ATTN Azmodes: here is the photo of the Lungs tape, as requested. It appears that they're still on the blacklist, though.

I'm afraid I was already half asleep or something after I made that lengthy post on the previous page, so I forgot to actually whitelist some of the bands. Durr, sorry, try it now.

Alright, some things to set straight here, sorry... The songs are somewhat metallic; that is, the songs you linked, but there is a 50-minute-long ambient song on there too. Which you chose to omit, deliberately or not. So the band's material at this point is not acceptable since it is not predominantly metal. Furthermore, it says on your homepage that the CD is "Limited/Promo CD Only, Not For Sale". If this means that it's not publicly available and just sent out to zines/labels and such, it is not acceptable either.

Bottomline: Please wait until another release, which is a) clearly metal and b) meeting the criteria I linked on the previous page. Then you can post about the band here again. For now it will stay blacklisted.

Quote:
Sorry selecteur de tir, Encyclopaedia Metallum was forced to reject your submission for the band Night (France), for the following reason:

A band needs a valid release before they can be accepted to the site - a valid release is one that's either:
Distributed in physical form (CD, CDr, DVD, tape, vinyl, etc)
Digital and available for full download: must also be a finished/final mix (no garage rehearsals or rough mixes), AND long enough (preferably over 20 minutes)
Already released. That is, no upcoming releases!

To prove this, you must include one of the following:
PHYSICAL RELEASES: Include photographic evidence (such as this or this) and upload them to a site like Imgur.com. Optionally, if you don't have access to any of the copies, you can include links to sites like BigCartel or a label's page that's selling them, or officially announced them as available for ordering.
DIGITAL-ONLY RELEASES: Include links to sites like Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon, etc, to where the release can be purchased or downloaded.

Hi, I've submitted a band called Night, they have released a demo in 2012, 15 hand made demo tapes, no download. I can provide you the whole demo in mp3 in private, not in public download though. and here is photos of mine : http://imgur.com/O5uQ4H, http://imgur.com/m0DhFZp

I submitted the band Mode of Egress and it was rejected on the basis of not having a physical product. Here is the website where you can order the tape version of the copy. I have ordered and received my own copy of the tape from Dullest. Thanks for your time and sorry for the confusion.

That looks fine. You can resubmit, just make sure to include that link in your submission as proof of release.

Hello. You rejected the band Epsylon Theory on the grounds that you had no evidence for the existence of their Ep, "Age of Freedom". This is my response:

Evidence for the existence of the physical EP: https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos ... .jpg?lvh=1

EP on digital format: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/age-o ... d644168153

Thanks

I've been thinking long and hard about this but here it goes:
I got a rejection for my submission of Equisa.
I can relate to that since the album is about halfway metal while the rest is more quiet work. I would like to ask you guys to reconsider since those quiet songs also have their roots in metal. On their website they also have listed three (other) songs of their EP that was only digital which are metal. This product was too short to meet the digital only requirements.
Listening to both and adding it up however does meet all criteria: their overall sound is metal.
I know why you have the rule that at least one release needs to be predominantly metal but here we have a band that has one predominantly metal release (the EP) which is too short for the rules since it's digital only and one release that's not predominantly metal.
Listening to this band will also make sure that it's not a matter of a band rooted in another style of music that has some Metal elements but that it's a metal band which has evolved and writes music that has it's roots in metal but which doesn't always have clear metal riffing in it's songs.

Some odd hybrid of post-rock/post-hardcore/post-something... certainly not metallic. Sorry mate.

OK, thanks for information, as I listened to them, they are really odd on the album, but their demo is OK, but more post than metal.

Isn't flipping basic riffing pretty much a genre staple? As for the vocals - I totally get where you're coming from, but I personally find them less -core than, say, their counterpart in a bog standard "atmospheric sludge" outfit due to them leaning more towards a standard growl than a mid-range hardcore scream.

Anyway, thanks for your time re-evaluating the band. Looking forward to your final verdict.

Feel free to submit them.

Hey,
I went to submit a band "Terror Strike" from Australia but it said they had been blacklisted? Not sure why.
They are a grindcore band with a CD release, which you can also listen to on their bandcamp:
http://terrorstrike.bandcamp.com/album/s-t-demo

Cheers.

Blacklisted as crusty grindcore (i.e. not enough metal riffing to count, sorry). After listening to the material myself I completely agree with the blacklisting entry.

Be patient please. Panzerdivision is blacklisted for being more rock than metal.
Deadheaven for being industrial/nu-metal and it was just blacklisted.

Hidden Dagger was submitted with a 3-minute sample, which was noise. The whole album sounds more acceptable. Conjuración Repugnante I'm not sure about, but I would be okay with it, methinks. Could qualify as ultra raw and noisy black metal, though the production makes it difficult and I'm not familiar with the earlier stuff to put this in perspective.

I'd like to hear Alhadis, Fulgurius, Halloween and/or uglur's thoughts on these first.

I'd say yes to both. Conjuración Repugnante kinda sounds like that hipster bm stuff like Weakling with a lot of noise/rawness going on.

Hidden Dagger sound acceptable.

Conjuración Repugnante, on the other hand... yeah, erh, nuh. It's similarly noisy, but unlike Hidden Dagger, whatever riffs are buried beneath the haze of distortion certainly aren't surfacing. It runs together into a thick, porous blackish haze. No from me, sorry.

Can I ask you to verify this band. Kruk

Was rejected as not metal. According to me it has a lot of elements of heavy metal and progressive metal. I put links.

It would be appreciated that you don't post here every time we reject one of your submissions, try to respect our decisions. I checked like 8 to 10 Kruk songs before rejecting them and they're not even borderline in my opinion, they're clearly hard rock.
