Long story short, having problems with the label I'm on.
Considering releasing a cassette myself. Did a quick search and I'm seeing prices around the $400 to $500 mark for a 100 printed ones.
Is that the normal going rate now? I'd like a printed cassette. I can do covers myself. Really only looking for 50 copies.
Just looking for advice from people in the know or people who run labels.

I've used duplication.ca for a couple runs of 50 cassettes, two different releases. Don't think it ever went over $400 and that was with them doing all the prints and stuff for me.

Duplication.ca and and National Audio Company are actually the only two tape duplication factories in North America. Every single label or company you see offering duplication is just going through them and charging you a broker fee. My band did a run of 100 through NAC with a color shell, shell printing, and three-panel J-card for $350 total, but that was a year ago so $400-500 probably is indeed the norm these days.

Alternatively, if you don't need shell printing and can do J-cards yourself shoot me a DM; I own a small duplication machine.
