Anyone remember Kull the Conqueror? I guess it wasn't Metal exactly, but I was amused with how every time Sorbo pulled out his axe, the heavy guitars kicked in.

Kind of an area of interest for me.
Return of the Living Dead 2 has some Leatherwolf on it, amonst other good music.

Trick or Treat is an essential 80s horror/metal hybrid film. Some metalhead kid gets picked on at school then he channels the malevolent spirit of a recently deceased rockstar. Awesome soundtrack by Fastway, kid has lots of awesome records and posters in his room.

Nightmare on Elm Street III features a title track by Dokken, which kicks arse. They shot a video for it too, with Freddy Kruger and shit.

Black Roses (1988) is another 80s metal/horror flick - decent, though nopt amazing with Lizzy Borden and shit. They done a sweet vid for a song too, i think.

Thor done a couple shitty 80s horror films i think.

There are lots more too. 80s metal/horror type stuff.

The obvious: Airheads with White Zombie playing live, This is Spinal Tap, and Iron Man, the comic movie, with Black Sabbath.

There have been plenty where some dude strums some thick notes on a guitar, but with actual bands:

- Night of the Demons 2 from 1994 had a Morbid Angel song playing at a high school dance.
- Phenomena/Creepers from 1985 included Motorhead and Iron Maiden.
- My Sweet Satan (guy who directed the first Necrophagia video) from 1994 has Cerebral Fix, Fear of God and some others.
- Darkness from 199? had some dm, though I can't remember a band name.
- I'm also pretty sure Motorhead music was in some Troma films such as Tromeo & Juliet as Lemmy also appeared as an "actor" in some.

I'm positive this thread has been done before, might want to check the search also.

One of the most played soundtracks from my collection - Joel Goldsmith mixed bombastic classical music with
metal guitars. Highly recommended! :-)

Severed Ways - The Norse Discovery of America is pretty much all black metal/ambient stuff. Lots of Burzum, Old Man's Child and Dimmu Borgir as I recall.

Another well known one I didn't see mentioned yet is River's Edge, which had songs by Slayer and Hallows Eve in the movie.

Fates Warning (and punk band Agent Orange) also are on the soundtrack, but I can't remember offhand if their songs actually appeared in any scenes.

The recent movie Bad Teacher had 1 Judas Priest song and 2 Dio songs. I think it was You Got Another Thing Comin', Rainbow in the Dark and I forget the other one.

I watched this a few nights back. Typical B grade Kevin Sorbo stuff. Amusingly bad.

Hah. Yeah.
Yeah Wild at Heart - that's how i found out about Powermad.

Iron Eagle - The height of over the top, patriotic cold war propaganda cheesefest, during the metalised 80s. Features some sweet Dio and shit on the soundtrack. Movies is kinda in the so bad it's good genre.

The Adventures of Ford Fairlane (terrible, yet i own it) and the critically panned Last Action Hero, both early 90s cheesefests, feature Queensryche. LAH also features Aerosmith, Def Leppard, ACDC for some decent hard rock vibes.

W.A.S.P. performed the track ""Scream Until You Like It" for the b-grade horror/comedy flick Ghoulies II in the 80s. They also shot a music video featuring the puppet creatures in the film. Pretty rad.

I remember seeing this movie a long time ago where these kids (one of them a metalhead) accidently perform a satanic ritual and it had a lot of metal in it. I can't remember what it was called but I know it was rated PG-13, I don't know if that helps, but can you guys tell me what it is?

I also remember this movie little nicky that had some Ozzy and stuff in it

Another 80s classic is Eat the Rich (1988), which is a spinoff of the British comedy/skit series Comic Strip Presents. It's a rather politically satirical, absurd and outrageous comedy cult classic. Music by Motorhead and an appearance from Lemmy, and perhaps others from the band - i can't recall.

The movie Demons http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089013/

Has Motley Crue's Save our Souls, Accept - Fast as a Shark and something from Saxon.

Yeah Demons was cool as shit and the soundtrack was tight. Same thing for Phenomena which was mentioned earlier, which also has the drawcard of a young Jennifer Conelly, which plenty of guys round here would tend to think is pretty legit.

A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989) is another 80s horror with a couple metal tracks. One track by WASP and also 'Bring your daughter to the slaughter'.

nightmare on elm street 3 has a couple of songs by dokken
anthrax supplied instrumental tracks for Ghosts Of Mars
Incubus (1982) has concert scene with a Bruce Dickinson fronted Samson in it
testament had a blink and you'll miss it cameo in Strange Days
obviously Waynes World & bill & Ted should get a mention

also weren't Armoured Saint featured in some movie?

I didn't see Death Metal Zombies mentioned on here, it's a pretty crappy, handheld camera film but it has some nice boobs and Amorphis, Anal Cunt, Deceased, Brutality and lots of stuff from a band called Dead World.
I'm not sure how easy it is to find but I got it off Pirate Bay last year.

Also The Gate is another metal influenced film about kids that accidentally release a horde of nasty, pint-sized demons from a hole in a suburban backyard. It's a pretty decent film and one of the kids plays a cult black metal record and has a thrasher vest with a Venom backpatch.

Came on here to say that film...good soundtrack to a film you think would be good but just quite doesn't deliver! In my opinion anyway.

Mother North is in Spun. Plus that movie's soundtrack is loaded with heavy metal.

SAW films tend to have a couple the first one had fear factory's 'bite the hand that bleeds' and the fourth had X Japan's song 'I.V.'

Armored Saint were in Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth FYI

Also the recent animation "Megamind" has Crazy Train by Ozzy in it as well as a couple of AC/DC songs.

Twisted_Fate, the movie you're talking about is The Gate (1987), it has a kid into metal but the only metal in it is from a fictional band.
The movie Hideaway (1995) has a pretty awesome soundtrack featuring Fear Factory, KMFDM, Godflesh and Front Line Assembly, Godflesh even appear in the actual film. Songs in the movie are Godflesh - Nihil, Fear Factory - Scumgrief [Deep Dub Trauma Mix] and I think KMFDM - Go To Hell is somewhere in there too.

Mortal Kombat (1995) : Napalm Death - Twist the Knife (Slowly), Fear Factory - Zero Signal and Type O Negative - Blood & Fire

Tales From the Crypt - Demon Knight (1995) : Ministry - Tonight We Murder, Pantera - Cemetary Gates [Demon Knight Edit], Sepultura - Polícia and Megadeth - Diadems

Escape from LA (1996) : White Zombie - The One and Ministry - Paisley

Brainscan (1994) : OLD - Freak Now

Strangeland (1998) : Pantera - Where You Come From, Anthrax - P And V and Megadeth - A Secret Place

Bride of Chucky (1998) : Type O Negative - Love You To Death, Slayer - Human Disease, Judas Priest - Bloodstained and Bruce Dickinson - Trumpets Of Jericho

Punisher: War Zone (2008) : Slayer - Final Six

Carrie 2: The Rage (1999) : Fear Factory - Resurrection and Type O Negative - Die With Me

Also, in the 1988 movie Vice Versa there are two songs by the band Malice; Crazy in the Night and Vice Versa. Judge Reinhold and some chick go see them at a concert near the end of the movie.
