I hope it's okay I've made a dedicated thread to this news.

http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-42696376

Very sad news. This was sudden and the cause is as yet unknown.

I'm very much a fan of The Cranberries and also enkoy some of Dolores' solo work. She had an incredible voice and was very talented. The Cranberries' first three albums crop up in my rotation fairly frequently and will definitely receive some revisiting in the days to come.

Goddamn, she was brilliant. Her dulcet but soaring vocals and delightful Irish accent can't quite be replicated anywhere else, and losing them forever is a loss to the entire Rock genre. Also, dying at 46 is fucking tragic no matter who you are. RIP

Will 2018 out-awful 2016? It's off to an auspicious start.

Growing up my sisters used to play the Cranberries, and unlike a lot of the other stuff they liked, I enjoyed it quite a bit. her voice had a certain magic to it. Sad news indeed, and 46 is way to young!

Her voice and her songs could be very hit or miss for me, but the talent was undeniable, and 46 is no age to go home in a box any way you slice it. R.I.P. :(

Pretty big bummer. Shocking to hear that she died at only 46. I wonder what happened. Wasn't too much of a fan, but I liked some of their songs and her voice for sure. R.I.P.

Wow, that's out of nowhere. My knowledge of her doesn't extend far beyond The Cranberries's hits but my brother often played their albums when we were young. She definitely had a unique, powerful voice. RIP.

I'm surprised Sinead outlived her.
