It's just always been that way, it's why my stepdad has sported a silly looking pornstache for the past twenty years. Clean shaven or a mustache. I thought it was that way in the military as well but you were required to shave your whole face and neck every morning in the Navy, and I never saw any one single person with a mustache.

It's funny you say that Bastard because my dad was a cop and he's since been retired for about 15 years and he still rocks the porn stache.

When was this? I've been in the Navy for nearly ten years, and mustaches have always been allowed.

My dad is a retired cop and still has the stache. Like I said, I have like no hair left on top of my head (freaking genetics). If I could compensate with a huge beard I would, but since most police departments are stuck in 1905, I cannot have any facial hair aside from a mustache.

Oh and the ends of the stache can't go past the corner of your mouth. Sideburns can't go past the middle of the ear lobe. And... you can't have hair that falls over your ears, unless you're a female. If you are a female and have long hair, it has to be pinned down so the hair doesn't touch your shirt collar.

Pretty bogus, right? But, at least I'll be retired by the time I'm 45.

Nah dude, makes sense. If you have a longer beard/longer hair/loose hair, perps can grab you by it (it's a small detail, but it makes sense). If I'm a criminal, and a cop is tackling me, chasing, whatever - I'll do anything to get out of it, even if it means grab one by her hair.

Same. I've known quite a few guys growing a stache (almost always done as a goof). I myself did it - it just had to be tapered. In basic training yeah you're required to shave completely, but not in the actual military.

Actually I started at 25. One of the few perks / fringe benefits of my department is 20 and out, regardless of age. Fifteen to go!

Damn 20 is nice, at my place it's 25 and out so I've only got 18 years left so I'll be 44 when it's time for me to go.

That guy is pretty awesome. Needless to say I felt a little out of place at an orchid show, with most people looking like that fine young man. My girlfriend came to the Enslaved/Pallbearer show the weekend before, so I had to play nice and go to a flower exibition.

Sadly, I can't work as an auditor for a company here with that hair. The only way is having my own business.

I had my hair longer than that once, when I was in Uni. Same curly hair but long to the butt. Chicks loved it and envied me at the same time, 'twas a huge plus to get laid, especially at gigs where I played.

I'll take that as a compliment! I've also been told I look like Johan Edlund when I shave, but I think most white guys with shaved heads look pretty damn similar!





It is in The New York Botanical Garden in The Bronx. A little oasis of green in the middle of an otherwise shitty area. Pretty cool place overall, and one of the only places in NYC that one can get away from noise and crowds.
