New Years Eve was lame and uneventful, the only friend I have around here is in Nevada so nothing happened, but there's a sweet show I'll be catching tomorrow. Hope ya'll had a better New Years!

Crushed, you would've dug the shit out of this show. It was this band (skip to 2:10 for THE MOST BADASS THING), a band called Heavy Breathing (check out the song "Higher Bodies"), Future Islands (who I remembered you liking from the Non-Metal review thread) and a few local DC bands.

Took this girl I'm sorta, kinda, dating now. Had a blast.

That song was awesome, and Future Islands are pretty much the shit. I'm jealous, sounds like a fucking great new year. Cheers man!

Holy fuck my cat went missing for several hours. She had never been gone so long, even in the summer. I was so worried I was crying, and had posters made, ready to print and post around town. But she finally came back just a few minutes ago. :O

My neighbours' cat, who spends a lot of his time at my place, is missing after NYE... I heard cats fighting at 5 a.m., but couldn't find anything in the dark; I'm close to crying. I don't think I'd survive anything like that happening with my cat.

My dog's gotten out before. It's a mixture of "I hope he's alright" and "I'm gonna kick the shit out of him" when I'm looking for him and when I find him and bring him back to the house.

I've had cats for 3 generations ever since I was born. One thing about cats is that they will die in solitude :-/ So if they're missing for more than a couple of days, it means they're *gulp* resting in peace somewhere.

I've heard of that, too. Cats seem to recall their home. Ours did after about two days, after the first day of moving in there. She lived another 8 years, so that was awesome.

I miss the sound of my neighbours' cat's bell... I keep thinking I hear it. I know it's odd to be so attached to someone else's pet, but, damn, he is adorable; and he spends a lot of time here.

On a cheerier note, Abyssal have (has? apparently this is only one dude) released a new album today; I haven't listened to it yet - the first one was such a mind-blowing record, I'm not quite in the right mindset to enjoy this one.

Yes, I did enjoy myself, only I didn't take any drugs. I didn't feel like using it, and I was already having a hell of a good time. Also, there was some very good beer, so I wasn't about to miss that. I did have to escort my very drunk friend home, and to make matters worse he accidentally crashed into a parked car with his bike..... One minor headwound and a very helpful gypsy later, I was finally home, and helped myself to a big slice of leftover cake with whip cream.

Beach time... going to start New Years off nicely by trying to even out this wretched tan from the other day.
