Nice! I think the first and the second picture would look great if you converted them into b/w.

Definitely! I think the branch's colour in the first took away from the strong lines curving around the right.

Are those last two moon shots? Probably going to bundle up and go take some myself this evening. Maybe get some aurora too if I'm lucky.

My new phone actually has a pretty nice camera (13 MP with HDR, macro, etc.) so I might try my hand and taking some photos soon.

Yes, they're. Those 3 photos are taken chronologically (so it was darker in the last 2 than in the first one).
Auroras? Yes, please!

Man, I HATE phone cameras! It seems like it does NOT matter how many MPs or good optics they have. They ALWAYS take shitty photos.

Oh, I know that, but I'm upgrading from an ancient flip phone that took pictures that looked like Minecraft. This is the first thing I've ever owned that I would really call a "camera".

Edit: mindshadow, love that shot of the lichens.

Bailed from work early being the last day and went swimming in a few different rivers. The first photo i only liked because of the face in the sunlight, looking like a man walking in a big cloak or something...also a random sunset photo i thought was nice

Lichens are usually some type of terrestrial algae living in symbiosis with fungus, so they're probably pretty closely related. I've definitely had some algae growths in fish tanks that took on decidedly lichenish looks.

Well, I went on a walk tonight and tried out my new phone camera with some night time photography. Unfortunately I have fuckall idea what I'm doing and was sort of winging it. Here are the most interesting ones of the night.

The sort of randomness in how they look is due to me fiddling with the camera's settings as I went. Some of these were shot with the camera's "Night" mode, some were shot with just the "normal" setting adjusting exposure, saturation, sharpness, etc. on the fly.

Edit: I think they look better not at full resolution. Look at the slightly smaller versions on the imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/bXQz8

Hahahaha, I love that album title. Did you perhaps take that from some local black metal band name? ;)

Thanks guys. Yeah, this camera definitely gets quite grainy when I crank the exposure to 11 in those really low-light situations, but I think it actually works pretty well for the subject matter. I was definitely going for that black metal album cover vibe, haha. mindshadow, that one's my favorite, too. I might wind up using that for an album cover when I do some black metal later this year.

Celtic Frosted Flakes, I just made up that album title, heh.

Love that first photo, bloodycumshit. The way the plants come together over the water is really sort of disorienting.
