Don't worry iamntbatman, you aren't spamming, you're using spoiler tags correctly so even a buttload of pics won't be a problem. Keep 'em up :)

What does it all mean?!?!? I saw some photos of that place from when an old friend of mine lived there. Pretty beautiful, for sure.

forestcorpse, great photos, as always! I could look at moss and pine trees forever. Here are some photos from Huangshan, the Yellow Mountain. I've wanted to visit this place since I was young and never thought I'd be able to. It was some really grueling hiking and climbing, but absolutely worth it.

I was walking down a hiking trail that led in between Maryland and West Virginia. Right by where the state line was, there's this long pedestrian tunnel underneath the mountain ridge that was barely light and just had this haunting feel to it.

These were taken near the far end where the lighting was the best. Walking through, I was listening to La Mort Noir dans Esch / Alzette by Sunn O))), but could still hear the dripping of the melting ice and leaking water from the ceiling (there was a series of drain pipes along the sides of the tunnel) just to make it more unnerving.

Neat. My favorite tunnel in that area is the Paw Paw Tunnel.

Really beautiful colors, Cosmic_Equilibrium!

I've got one more batch of China photos I've been too lazy to go through. It's in a more laid-back, relaxing place that's sort of the birthplace of the Asian garden: Suzhou. Not quite as magnificent as the Huangshan photos I posted last time, but still hopefully pretty.

This is a few pics of Blue Knob State Park's skiing area during the off season. Taken yesterday, there were still a few patches of snow that haven't quite melted yet. PA's highest skiiable mountain, the view from the summit is pretty sublime.

So your snow's all melted out there on the east coast huh? It's still winter in our mountains. Our local ski area just got eight inches on Friday, and right now, they have enough snow to stay open probably for another month (I should know, I was just up there earlier today.) In fact, we even got some snow here in town yesterday.

I've seen some honeycombed rocks like that near the coast when I used to live out there, and always wondered what caused that formation.

I grew up and still live in the mountains of Western North Carolina and growing up in the Great Smokey Mountains has led to a love of nature. I can't stand the southern heat but luckily it is a bit cooler up here and the higher you get in elevation the cooler it gets, and lucky for me, I am surrounded by pretty much all of the highest peaks in the east coast. Once you get above 5,500 ft the climate is similar to Southern Canada. I want to move to the Northwest though, I crave more snow and despite getting much more than the rest of the Southeast it just isn't enough for me!

Spoiler: show
Black Balsam sunset. Around 6,000 ft.

The Devil's Courthouse and a good glimpse as what is known as the "Southern boreal forest" Peak around 5,800 ft

Richland Balsam From Blue Ridge Parkway. Peak at 6,410ft, taken at about 5,000 ft.
Image

View from Mt. Mitchell, the highest point east of the Mississippi River. 6,683 ft.
Image

Naturally occurring inverted cross. I am hoping to use this pic on a solo black metal project in the future.
Image

Top of Hemphill Bald looking towards Cataloochie Ski area. Taken at about 5,500 ft.

Snowy mountains from down in the valley. The snowy bald patch in the mid-upper right is where the last picture was taken.

Autumn colors on the creek in Harmon Den wildlife area. Lower elevation around 2,000 ft.

And finally... January snow storm from my yard.

Haha, seeing your post (fixed) with hers right after that, I assumed her smiley was for daring to compare that light dusting of snow to Canada! Nice pics, though.

For the southeast we get the most snow out of anywhere else so I'll take what we can get haha. I wish I was in Canada or somewhere up north since I love snow and hate heat. We're in a strange spot because I get mixed reactions, people in Georgia or Alabama freak out when I tell them that around January it gets down to -10 degrees (Fahrenheit) because cold to them is like 40 degrees but people up north just laugh and say that -10 is cute.

Those are pretty much amazing. No wonder when Scandinavian Metal bands want a good album cover, they just wander outside with a camera.

Just a quick question for you guys...love the pictures, keep them coming.

I just found out Photobucket will no longer allow liking pictures to other sites. Which is absolute bullshit, because, after all, what else is the point of photobucket, but to upload photos so you can link to them?
Kind of defeats the purpose if you ask me.

And not only that, last time I tried uploading stuff to there, the upload was so slow that it timed out after a half hour, simply trying to load three six-mb pictures.

So bottom line is, I need a new image storing site!! I suspect I'm not alone, probably a lot of photobucket users are in the same boat. So where are you guys storing your pictures and what do you reccommend? I think a lot of my pics on this thread are about to become "red x-ed" here soon, as photobucket severs the links. Kind of pissed about this.

EDIT: Yeah, they've already all been nuked. All my pics are gone except, ironically, for one that someone re-posted. I need a new photo hosting site!

FUCK YOU PHOTOBUCKET!!

Personnally i use Casimage, you can upload a lot of stuff at the same time, bbcode or html is already add and i never had problems with.
Not available in English, but it's quite easy to use.

Honestly I just link here directly from Facebook. I know it's not the best thing ever, but throwing all of my photos up on Facebook helps me keep things organized and seems fairly future-proof.

Some stuff I took on a hike last weekend up to an airplane crash at the top of a mountain. The hike was a bit rough due to the winds at that elevation plus the semi-frozen mist but luckily I am into that kind of thing.
