For you, what important deaths happened in 2017? It can be in any field. Politic, art, entertainment, science.

few of mine are on the top of my head:

John Dunsworth. He was an actor who played Jim Lahey, the drunk supervisor in Trailer park boys. He was really funny.

Chris Cornell from Soundgarden. It was one of my favorite band when I was a teen.

Malcolm Young from AC/DC. It was my favorite band when I was around 14 years old.

With all due respect: "Celebrities" simply do not equate "important" for me. In fact, they are less important to me.

Agreed. We should reserve public mourning on MA only for individuals that have made an important impact on the world. Examples include: metal musicians, metalheads, etc.

Maybe I choose the wrong world here. I rearranged the title.

Agreed on John Dunsworth. Also, Warrel Dane.

Not as brutal a year as 2016, but there were a few that hit the gut, with Greg Allman probably being the biggest one for me.

Martin Ain. That one was hard to swallow as well.

I wasnt a big fan of Linkin Park but... the guy from Linkin Park- a lot of the younger kids liked them I guess, and a lot of older people used to like them when they were younger.

It was early in the year, but Chuck Berry was a very recognizable loss last year.

Dolores O'Riordan passed away today.

Songs like "Linger" and "Dreams" are such a wave of nostalgia for me.

*Whoops, this is from 2018. Oh well.
