How do I change my "rank" or whatever you would call it on the forums, I am new here since last night, and I am just curious, thanks in advance.w

You just need to post. The default ranks are all standard and based entirely on postcount. After a while you will be a metal newbie, and then a metalhead.

Yeah, I figured it was all about post count, but I just wanted to make sure.

Forum ranks and site ranks are separate and can be different. The site rank is points, the forum rank is posts.

Yes.

You stop being a mallcore kid at something like 50 posts I believe.

Then you become a metal newbie.

I don't remember when you stop being that. A couple of hundred posts or something and you become a metalhead, I think.

Well, my rank on the forum wasn't "Metalhead" until I got 100 points. I've always assumed that forum rank and site rank were the same thing.

Yep. Your forum rank is based only on your post count. It really doesn't mean a lot though, the ranks are just for fun.

The main metal database (what I refer to above as "the site") actually tracks a slightly different profile to the forums. At the moment, yours will look the same, but the rank there won't change when your forum rank does, because it is tied to your contributions to the database. The ranks there are also only for fun, with the exception of the Veteran rank which entails better access, and the Fred Durst rank which is applied to banned users.

But really, you shouldn't worry about your rank. It doesn't really mean much at the end of the day. :)

I have never submitted anything, and as such should have no points on the site whatsoever.

I'm still a metalhead on the forums though.

I'm thinking of writing some reviews some time though, but I'm not sure what I would review. I don't wanna review anything that already has like a million reviews. It would be pointless, much like I am right now on the site (point-less).
