Why metal-archives site is white?

Is there some/any problem/issue with the site/server or was it simply decided to remove the color it had and make it white?

No one knows. Might be the internet is finally falling apart.

Quite possibly just their least-planned April 1st shenanigans yet.

I actually find reading on dark themes subtly uncomfortable due to past migraine issues, so I've been over here with a browser plugin making the page white whenever I feel like it already. It could do with some improvement though - maybe I'll look at that at some point.

April 1st is over. I hope they change it back soon.

The site is still white despite it being 10:50am EST on April 2nd. I'm wondering when it will go back to the usual black.

It's back for me. It wasn't so much the white as the fancy hard-to-read cursive font that was throwing me off.

So that was a joke for April 1st...

I have everything on dark mode, so it legit overwhelmed my eyes!

That was the worst april fool's jokes I have experience on the sited. I preferred the metal joke, the kitten joke and the website sellout joke.

The horror!

The addition of Nickelback on the archives waaaaaaaaaaay back was one of the funniest for me, especially with Enbilulugugal being voted most similar artist. Fucking hilarious how much that took off, even Enbilulugugal posted about it on their Facebook page the joke reviews got out of hand though, especially since people started writing joke reviews for a bunch of records (I admit guilt to a couple of them...).

I noticed their April Fool's jokes started dumbing down a bit after that, maybe because of how out of hand it got. The kitten one was great though, and must have taken a long time with how many bands got really special ones!
