Living Colour - Leave It Alone

This band has some hype around them when they came out as a unique black hard rock band. Vernon Reid is an excellent guitar player and was the anchor of this band.

Here's some instrumental post-rock/stoner-rock from France: Stone From The Sky - Break A Leg. Their latest album so far, Songs From The Deepwater, is another one I've been listening to lately.

Winger - Hangin' On

Despite the hate they received from Beavis and Butthead, Winger was actually a good band formed by veteran session musicians and their first 2 albums were really good. I still have copies of those 2 albums and occasionally pull them out to listen intently to.

I've been listening to a lot of Geto Boys. Just started checking out their solo records.

Pretty solid!

Dead End - Zero

They totally dumped metal at this point (I'd consider this album is hard/alt/goth rock). Fortunately, this is still pretty enjoyable.

Weezer-Van Weezer

Supposedly influenced by 80's hard rock/metal. About six songs in at this point and I'm mostly disappointed. A couple nice riffs here and there, so not all horrible.

Are...are we actually doing this? This thread is actually going to be a thing? Sigh...

Persona 5 Strikers OST - Counter Strike

Lyn is very, very quickly becoming one of my favorite vocalists of all time. I could (and I have) listen(ed) to her songs all day.

Jeff Beck - Blow By Blow

Not my usual fare, but still quite a release from Mr. Beck. Jazz Fusion, Fusion, whatever you wanna call it- is pretty much encapsulated here. He's a wonderful player and it's cool to listen to him venture into the jazz realm with a searing rock tone. I still like the Jeff Beck Group stuff better though.

Belly - Now They'll Sleep

Belly was one of the bands that surfaced in the 'alternative rock' boom that Nirvana kicked off. This is one of their better songs.

A.A. Williams - "Belong"

I wish more artists would do songs like these, vocal-oriented, but with more of a post-rock build-up and release structure.

Mell - Mellscope

Going through some of the weeb music I listened to back in 2013 (strange cuz I don't even like anime lol). Its been a long time since I've heard this, but its holding up pretty well so far. Pity she retired due to health issues (seems to be a common occurrence over there).

I'm currently listening to Straight Outta Compton, by the Christian pop group, N.W.A.

犬神サーカス団 (Inugami Circus-Dan) - 神の犬

Spring cleaning resumes. Not sure how I ended up with 19 of their CDs  This one is pretty interesting so far though. [edit] This one started to get boring/irritating around the middle of the album. I think they're one of those bands where one "best of" compilation would do, not 19 freaking CDs. I may give it another chance in a month, not like anything is going anywhere for a few years.

Paatos - Sensors

I need something completely different for a palate cleanser.

Denzel Curry, Robert Glasper - Melt Session #1

What a way to start the album - this is Curry's best record to date, btw and Glasper's mastery is always a thing to behold.

The Chalkeaters - Count to Three

Despite being a gaming-centered internet band, they're actually really talented.

XTC - "This is Pop"

I struggle with their early 80's music that's more "punk" sounding than the straight up pop sound they moved towards later on in their career, but I LOVE this song. The chorus is so god damned catchy.

つしまみれ (TsuShiMaMiRe) - 酒まみれ

20+ years and still going strong. Latest album was a bit more noisy and screwed up than I expected.

Klaus Schulze - "X"

One of my favourite non metal artists, just passed away. RIP :(

Poison Idea - Feel the Darkness

Killer, I guess this is the most metal oriented album of the band. Great stuff

Father John Misty - Buddy's Rendezvous

This is a standout on here for me now; a somber, longing thing with a good sax part.

I think I've been in a first wave punk mood over the last couple days.

Roger Hodgson- Had a Dream (Sleeping With the Enemy)

I like it more than anything done by Supertramp.

Jyocho - しあわせになるから、なろうよ

Equally chill/laid-back and technical. I should like this band more than I do, but I guess I own all their CDs (plus both Uchu Conbini), so they must be doing something right.

Wydraddear - Were Drowned In The Flames

Excellent eerie and mysterious sounding dungeon synth.

Pusha T - Just So You Remember

I can't stop spinning the new album. The highs are really high - production, lyricism, conceptual brilliance, conciseness, the right doses of extravagance; all the functional things that make a great hip hop record. Another cool entry in an overall superb discography (including the Clipse albums).

Chrono Trigger OST - The Black Omen

Yasunori Mitsuda is one of the best in the business, let there be no doubt.

Stereolab - Transient Random Noise Bursts With Announcements
Albert Ayler - Spiritual Unity

Taking a break from 80s trad metal to just bask in some weird sounds for the sake of making noise.

Tom Petty - Learning to Fly

I've heard of this song a long time ago and I liked it right away. I'm just discovering Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' discography now.

Anna von Hausswolff - "Pills"

I think she's like the Tom Waits of darkwave. Her early material isn't much like what she became known for later. This song in particular has always been a favorite, like dark lounge blues.

The Residents - 13th Anniversary Show - Live In Tokyo

One of my all-time favorite live albums, and my favorite out of all the 13th Anniversary releases. The vocals on "Constantinople" are probably the closest they've ever came to the studio version.

Killing Joke - The first 5 albums

T.S.O.L. - "Change Today?" and "Revenge" from the now ignored Joe Wood-era, when they were doing some really cool goth-y rock ("Change Today?" is especially awesome)

This dungeon synth demo hits so differently at night. Really great for a calm nightly atmosphere.

Depeche Mode - I Feel You

One of my all-time favorite acts. I've known about this band when teeny boppers would swoon over them like this generation's teens would for One Direction or whoever it is that's young and trendy these days. DM's music took on a darker tone in the '90s. This was one of their MTV hits, especially with the hot chick on the video.
