Hey guys, I'm looking to get a new digital camera, and I was wondering if anyone here is really into that scene. My knowledge is very, very limited, so be gentle, haha.

Basically, I'm looking for something somewhat compact that I can take on vacation with me. I'm also hoping for something that shoots 1080p video and is capable of connecting a Rode mic (i think most can, but like I said, I'm not well versed in this).

What is the difference between DSLR and Mirrorless? I'm trying to keep my price below $800 and looking for the best value. Any help, without getting too technical on me, would be much appreciated!
