I love Nuclear Blast and a lot of great releases coming out, but when you start signing up the likes of Imminence and Across the Atlantic, then you know something is seriously wrong. I mean whose next Justin Bieber? Miley Cyrus?

Is this stuff even popular with... well, anyone? I would have thought they were about 10 years too late signing all this shit.

Dunno. Ten years ago it would've resulted in a serious PR backlash for Nuclear Blast, because it would've seemed like trend-hopping. Now that it's mostly passé, we're also mostly past the point of caring.

Eh, the songs used in Sonic games have always been laughably cheesy. Exhibit A.

This is far from being the worst song I've heard even this week, let alone of all time.

EDIT: This is pretty sweet, I'm not gonna lie.

Meh. I don't find it terrible. Bad vocals, okay solo and average riffing but that's not that bad...

White Iverson was pretty catchy but Post Malone hasn't really put out much worth listening to since then. He seems like a chill dude though.

Post Malone was shit. Is it just me, or does every chorus in that genre of music sound exactly the same. Maybe they're thinking the same thing about metal...

His music has always sucked , so I doubt he wrote that song to be ironic . His possible Michigan Senate run doesn't seem to be a joke either : https://www.kidrockforsenate.com/

Had to listen to fucking bullshit pop music at my last job. The same 10 songs constantly. Despite growing to loath all 10 (or so) of them, one in particular stood out as fucking garbage:

It's bland, stripped down to the bare minimum a pop song could be, without any bit of flair or personality. I genuinely believe this was produced by a computer program designed to create music void of human emotion. The dully repeated refrain of "work work work work work" belies the attitude of everyone who participated in creating and distributing this song: fucking drones just doing their jobs. Worst pop song of 2016, if not the decade, if not all time. It reminds me of that shitty "Gasoline" song from Halsey in 2015, with the slow, metronome beat, random do-dad sound effects, and stark production, but that at least had *some* emotion (even if that emotion was petty rich girl whining). What's with this trend in pop music lately of slow, boring, songs composed almost entirely of little clicks and toots and almost no beat or melody?

I'd never heard Rihanna before, but if anyone argues she's an "artist" after this they will be rightfully declared bonkers.

Really skeletal or "minimalist" is pretty in right now with pop/rnb music. Tbh I don't hate the song that much but yeah it's probably one of the least good examples. But overall I like the trend, although it's pretty much worn out it's welcome at this point.

Sunlight, you've been living in America the last ten or so years right? I'm actually dumbfounded you've never heard Rihanna before Work, lol. I don't particularly care for her either but she's got like 30 top ten hits in her career or some nutty shit like that. Pretty sure she's got like the fourth most number one hits ever too...she's kind of an institution of American pop at this point.

I've known her name and that she was a pop star for a long time of course, I just hadn't heard her songs (or if I had I had not known them to be her's). It's not hard to keep out of touch with popular music if you don't listen to the radio or watch MTV (and other such channels). I listen to my own music at home and in the car and most of my jobs haven't had background music. I only heard Beyonce for the first time last year when a friend asked me to listen to her new album on youtube. My ignorance is of my own making. :P

Gotcha. I just figured you'd have to heard her somewhere, be it a commercial or movie trailer or sports event or something, lol.
And Beyonce either?! You're telling me you hadn't heard, I don't know, "Single Ladies" ever? That's grounds for execution to half of Americans man!

I've all but given up on American pop music ever since Lady Gaga stopped pumping out her super-catchy hits, and waiting for another "Uptown Funk" or "Shut Up and Dance" is unreliable at best.

It's all been downhill since C+C Music Factory perfected pop with "Gonna make you sweat (everybody dance now)".

I will give C+C music credit for one thing. They love their song titles to include parenthesis.

Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)
Just a Touch of Love (Everyday)
A Groove of Love (What's This Word Called Love?)
Let's Get Started" (Interlude I)
Bounce to the Beat (Can You Dig It?)
The Mood" (Interlude III)
C+C Has Left the Building" (Interlude IV)
The West" (Interlude V)
Good or Bad" (Interlude VI)
What Can I Do (To Make You Stay)
Musica Es Mi Vida"(Robi-Rob's Boriqua Anthem Part 2)

Bro, have you not heard the new Bruno Mars? It's pretty killer especially if you like what he did with Uptown Funk.

edit: newest, I should say. The album's pretty old at this point. lol
