If you went to a stoner doom show AND had sex with her, I'd call that a rousing success.

Yeah I don't have the term in my language so I won't try testing one in English. I don't study Physics. But I was talking of the fact that the moon was painted rust/red due to the sun.

A new band from Quebec, Canada that I have discovered recently. It's a mix of rock, alternative music, reggae etc.

It's called ''Urubu''

That sounds awful :crash: And I like roots reggae.

Besides, Sublime already did that.

I listened to that and had to turn it off halfway. Roots reggae can be amazing. This was not.

Back to your scheduled Dee Snider album.

It seems Neckbeard Deathcamp just got added to the Archives. I haven't listened to the music, but the lyrics and song titles are funny. I especially like all the more subtle jokes, like how the style of metal they play is similar to the kind of metal that the worst NSBM bands play and how their location is where Varg Vikernes resides. It looks like it went pretty viral, and a lot of people outside of metal appreciated the humor, although I wonder how many of the people who bought it on Bandcamp are actually into metal and how many catch the more metal-specific jokes of the band. I know I sound a bit like an elitist asshole here, but when I see people not into metal talking about it I can't help but think of that Simpsons quote: "No, you can't play with it! You won't enjoy it on as many levels as I do."

Black Metal already survived Fenriz' cat photos and the wave of warm sounding hipster post-bm of recent years. It will survive non-metal die-hards as well.. YEAH EVIL! :panda: :np:

Wait a second! There are "Open The Gates" shirts?! They did not have any when they were on tour. Can you point me to a link perhaps?

Thank you!

I know that shirt - that is the one Tim from Shadow Kingdom is selling. I've been wanting to get it but the shipping to Poland is overkill. Maybe next time.

Still - "Open The Gates" is one hell of an album. All killer no filler. When you got tracks like the title track, "Astronomica", "Road of Kings" or "Witches Brew" you just fail.

Probably not for the "all bm after '93 sucks" fraction, but but otherwise. The photos of Fenriz on the newer Darkthrone albums are also really on point. Seeing him hiking, skiing or just doing general nonesense is hillariously great.

Totally agreed. I love his general silliness and "I-do-not-give-a-fuck" attitude. I love that he manifests it both in photos and especially did in music just going back to the traditional metal/punk roots. I saw how the "trve black metal cult" brigade reacted to that and laughed at that A LOT. More people in the scene should do that kind of thing (especially considering the fact that albums were REALLY good!).

Just so you know: this is just a Chinese shirt printer who will print literally anything on a shirt. It is in no way official merchandise, and the band will not see a penny of this sale. If you just want the design on the shirt and don't care if it's a bootleg, it's fine (though I wouldn't begin to vouch for quality from this seller), but if you're looking for the real deal this is not it.

Wait a second. Look at this:

https://www.shadowkingdomrecords.com/manilla-road-open-the-gates-shirt.asp

This basicly the same design as the above shirt on Aliexpress. This could mean he is just selling the same shirts Tim has done or just copying them.

But I agree - if you want to support the band these should be bought from Tim/Shadow Kingdom.

Yeah, definitely go for the officially licensed merch before going for some Chinese knockoff stuff. Also SKR are awesome so buy from there for sure.

There is also this:

https://shop.season-of-mist.com/manilla-road-open-the-gates-t-shirt

Season of Mist seem a legit label but this is a different design. Bootleg maybe? I don't know which design I prefer and I wonder if this one is legit.

Yes and yes. Now I’m just waiting for them to get more Manilla Road cds back into their stack. Or does their new label handle that shit now?

SKR handles the Manilla Road stuff for the US, High Roller does the vinyl editions and ZYX/Goldencore releases the Manilla Road albums for Europe (at least the deluxe editions).

I'll probably never get around to listening to them since those sort of ironic/parody/whatever the fuck you want to call'em bands turn me off and just isn't my thing.

I saw the meme on Twitter about Neckbeard Deathcamp. I just had to close my eyes and shake my head about 'em. I'm fine with parody on some occasions but at least use some fucking tact and subtlety.

This reminds me (strangely enough...) of an idea I had for parody band. A death metal band themed around Monty Python. Artwork/song titles etc. Could work I think!

Neckbeard Deathcamp is cool for parody or whatever I guess but in terms of joke bands the king is always going to be Puig Destroyer.
