Well, good on them for investing real money in fake money. Might as well have invested in Chuck-E-Cheese tokens.

Ppffff Chuck E. Cheese uses tickets. I mean, come on. And it only takes 50,000 to get a really sweet comb. For 7.5 million, you can get a non-regulation basketball.

lmfao that doesn't even make sense, the current valuation of most cryptocurrency compared to USD at this point is speculative, as far as I understand, so the only reason it would crash is people selling en mass, not the fact that people who don't have it are fear mongering.

I mean, yeah. Should Chuck-E-Cheese's ever go out of business, suddenly those things become collector's items and their value only goes up. Still a much smarter investment than cryptocurrency.

Damn, I didn't realize he was only 60. It's sad that Iron Man never really got a lot of attention, even from metal circles. Maybe his death will spark renewed interest in the band.

I was super bummed to hear that. He was a really easy going guy and such a huge influence on what has become one the doom capitals of the world. His family is doing a GoFundMe for funeral expenses if anyone is interested.

Also, there's going to be a benefit show on January 27 at The Depot in Baltimore with Electropathic, Witch Hazel, Three Iron Hand, Bound by the Grave, and the remaining members of Iron Man doing an acoustic set with Wino. Here's the event page:

This is the kind of argument the internet was made for.

The tokens are used to play the arcade games. The tickets are what you trade for your prizes. THOSE are the Bitcoins.

Don't question my knowledge on this. I'm a father!

I'm curious about this subject for some reason. Is Blut und Krieg by Moonblood considered a black metal masterpiece?

Well I'm not a father. But we were all kids once and most of us in the states have probably been to one of their establishments. Seems like a weird qualifier to follow up with in this specific circumstance.

Just instantly reminded me of this

Consider this truth: within five years Hollywood will make remakes of Commando, Predator, and Running Man.

I was gonna say Conan and Judge Dredd, but they have already been done, apparently. Wouldn't it be quicker to list movies that won't be remade?

I'm fairly certain Ferris Bueller's Day Off is safe from being remade.

Objects will have whatever value people put into them. I used to do antique trading/selling with one of my friends and assist him, and you'll be surprised what people will buy stuff for. I had two boxed Gobots I sold for maybe $80-90 just recently.

Defendor stays with me though.

Cryptocurrency definitely isn't for everyone, but it helps if you don't have many hobbies or do much on your weekends. The last couple of months got me $700ish from Litecoin and Bitcoin, and I'm gonna be trying Ripple and seeing where that goes. Trading it so far made me $70 the last couple of days, but I'm thinking of just letting it ride and seeing how much in value they can go up.

Listening to Dr. LaVey's music and watching Satanis, The Devil's Rain, and Rosemary's Baby began this 'unholy-day' of observation as we prepared for a dinner engagement later that night. I decided to wear the lightning bolt sigil with pinstriped suit, red dress shirt with black tie, and My black fedora to aesthetically honor Our Founder, The Black Pope I of The Church of Satan.

At their request, LB & I had the pleasure of spending a delightful dinner at The Olive Garden in the gracious company of Citizens Behemoth and Soraya, in honor of Dr. LaVey's Nativity. I inunciated a Tribute-Toast each with a glass of Pinot Grigio Cavit with a single ice cube therein, as was one of Dr. LaVey's amusingly peculiar preferences, followed by a "Shemhamforash! Hail Szandor! Hail Satan!". We have made this a personal annual tradition. The night followed with sumptuous feasting and great conversation, exchanging ideas, reminiscing on former meetings, as well as nefarious plans for subsequent activities.

For those unaware, The Olive Garden is reminiscent of a Dionysian garden-like environment with vines and plaques adorning the walls, rich Italian cuisine, and attentive service once seated. We were pleasantly situated in a darkened corner, whose gloom enhanced the atmosphere that much more. A bottle of robust blood-red Chianti Straccali wine was ordered, and indulgence had by all. A great time was had.

"Oh great brothers of the night, thou who maketh My place of comfort, who rideth out upon the (hot) winds of Hell, who dwelleth in the Devil's fane; Move and appear!" ~ The Satanic Bible.

The return to The Noctuary yielded cool blustering winds which would howl unto the following day and night through, capping the celebration perfectly. A rite of appreciation was enacted, the reading of poem Devil-Father, Daemon-Brother, to an elixer of bourbon imbibed, until dawn crested upon the horizon.

Hails to you, Anton Szandor LaVey, immortal legend and diabolical mentor, your words and deeds continue to reverberate unto timelessness!

Dredd wasn't a remake of that dreadful Stallone/Rob Shneider film. Dredd was just a new movie based on the comics. A pretty good movie.

The recent Dredd movie was very good. There is a soundtrack which was commissioned but not used in th final cut by Geoff Barrow (of Portiahead fame). It’s available on CD/Lp, worth picking up if you dig John Carpenters soundtracks

Nothing with Rob Schneider in it is better than anything without Rob Schneider. This is a universal fact, like math.

What was the bad and dumb part? The plot is as simple as possible and executed with no hiccups. The action is excellent. The slow-mo drug concept is cool. The villain is one you both love to hate and yet is also sympathetic. The effects and filmography make all the vastly more expensive comic book movies look like they were made by amateur filmmakers by comparison. If all the blockbusters we are inundated with nowadays were of this caliber life would be significantly less unbearable.

Stallone Dredd is a humorous romp, but Dredd is a good action movie.

stallone dredd was glorious camp, new dredd just struck me as try hard fake and lame. The slomo concept was just done to sell it as a 3d movie. I'd rather have camp than kitsch.

Sounds like you might be "try hard fake and lame" to not enjoy something that was actually quite entertaining, and more closely following the source material.

Well, I didn't watch it in 3d and the slowmo drug was still cool. I would love to try that in real life, as long as I'm not getting pushed off a balcony.

I don't know, some things seem to have no value at all despite being a rare item. But I guess once someone somewhere pays a dumb amount for something, it suddenly becomes "valuable". It just depends on the item. Like, I've found that some old board games from the 90's go for stupid prices now while there are some games and puzzles from the 60's (that one would assume has value) that go for like 2 dollars. Reselling is best if you just have stuff no one else has, though.

This MAY OR MAY NOT be based on actual people involved in an actual serial killer case:
Spoiler: show
"Are you sure we're going the right way?" Sarah inquired, shifting her gaze to the driver of the black Ford Escape, Mitch, who had apparently indulged in cheap cologne and chewing gum.

"Yes, I know what I'm doing!" Mitch barked through his pudgy, round, middle-aged, Asian-American face.

Sarah returned her eyes to the outside world scrolling by. Not a single trace of humanity was to be found, accredited to the fact that it was a very early May morning on the barrier islands of Long Island. The scent of the Atlantic ocean wafted through the cracks between the window panes and their respective weatherstrips, heavy with humidity. A gentle breeze rustled the native grasses of the vast marshes, some of which exceeded the height of an average adult male.

The SUV slowly crept up to the entry-way guarded by an automatic, vertically-lifting traffic barrier gate, ultimately halting, altogether.

"What the fuck? How do we get in?" Sarah shrieked.

Mitchell rolled his driver-side window all the way down. His eyes were immediately drawn to a metallic keypad illuminated by the overhead light-post. He emoted his dismay by throwing his hands up in the air and sighing. This heavily-lit spot was no place for a pimp to be conducting business, he thought. His heartbeat quickened as he imagined a nosy neighbor calling the police on him.

"Call the asshole!" he commanded. Sarah obliged.

Part 2 coming soon

The original Fort Max was not produced in high numbers because of the sheer size of the character, meaning the potential markets for parents to buy him back in the day, were limited. I've seen Fort Max priced up to $500, loose. The new Fortress Maximus edges him (and the last Metroplex) out as the largest Transformers figure.

Transformers, in general, though, have a pretty dedicated collector's market. It doesn't take long for figures to skyrocket in after-market prices. Particularly in the Generations lines, which are targeted toward adult collectors. As they also tend not to have an associated movie or TV show, they're produced in much lower numbers.

I'm more using Transformers as an example.

More the point that you gotta understand your market.
