I just noticed that my nose looks HUGE in that photo. That's due to me looking down to be grim by the way.

My collection and my archaic stereo (35-40 years old). There're a dozen more CDs lying on the part of table which isn't on the picture and several are scattered throughout the house.

To those who say "he looks/doesn't look like X", take this quiz:

Most people do horrible.

7 out of 16. The only one of them I actually recognized was Zack de la Rocha.

Well, in the foreground there's a one-track train line and on the "construction site" there had been a steel construction company until it was demolished several years ago. Now the municipality of Vienna uses the place as a parking area for snow plows and similar, which are obviously all gone now.

The smoke stacks in the background belong to a power station which is located across the danube, rather far away, but today was a really clear winter day, so it seems to be pretty close, I guess.

The area isn't by far as dismal as it seems (check my post in the city vs. suburban vs. rural life thread) and those 'living blocks' are typical municipal tenement blocks, which look dull, yes, but not as depressing as similar Soviet/Russian buildings.

Hmm, wouldn't he need a more angular face for that? Whatever, I'm not sure.

I got six out of 16 right. With a bit more patience and pondering, I would probably have got two or three more, but it's extremely hard to detect any certain facial traits that instantly give it away on persons with three or more ethnic backgrounds.

And one must clearly imagine that it would be infinitely harder to detect sub-ethnicities within a race, such as Slavs, Germans, Romans, etc. It's nearly impossible.

In fact I think there's another quiz built specifically just for that, but I have to find it.

Yeah, when Chth said 'Southern Slav' I was simply picturing some Serbs and Bosnians I know and compared it with Bezerko. Way too vague, I suppose.

Yes, please, that'd be very interesting.

Actually, Ivan (a.k.a. John), Alexander, Alex(ey), Andrew, etc. are much more common and popular. I was like the only Boris in all schools I ever used to go to, and am one of the very few at the institute. :D

Huh? I think the only time I encountered this name was about ten or twelve years ago when I was literally obsessed with Greek mythology. So yeah, Theseus, Minotaur and Ariadna's thread. :P

For the record, (Ancient) Greek names were very common among Russian peasants in the 18th and (especially) 19th centuries.

So, I'm a lucky one too. I met two girls from Russia with that name on vacation. They said it like Arishka or something..
I found it rather difficult to say it. You've got many "sh" I can't even spell.
But Ariadna, haha, it's fucking easier.

Ahem... Arishka is usually a pet name for Arina, but when possible, we tend to use one pet name for several similarly sounding names.

It's a bit tricky thing to photograph so that it's easy to see.

EDIT: NO! Damn! It's not a trick, it's a real thing. No illusions there. Damn, I'll go out and take a better picture.

I should always, always google difficult words before saying anything... :annoyed:
