By the way, a bit ashamed by our demonstration on our national day yesterday in France... two motos collided and one plane didn't spread the right color (probably you saw some memes about it)...

Because festivals are getting hyped these days and most people go there for the festival iteself and don't care about the bands. Many will stay the entire week on the campground drunk without watching a single band.

That's very much true, less so of Keep it True because of its smaller size but even then you get a fair few "bimbi minchia" German kids who are there just to get drunk. "Hey, did you go to see Fates Warning?" "No, I've just been here drinking beer". I dunno, it seems even worse in Germany that people will just stay drinking in the campsite and don't care about any of the bands.

Yeah, since even the cheapest discouter jumped on the train, summer is filled with the "festival spirit" all over the place. Fucking trend shit. GO watch the fucking bands, they are playing just for you.

This is too cute! A band consisting of 13 year olds thrashing at Sweden Rock Festival.

Sounds like a good way to end up in some post-apocalyptic hilarity like the Fyre Festival.

i know that some people go to KIT without a ticket just to party at the campsite.
I also have to tell that i didnt really like the attitude last year. People were there just for the hits it seemed for several of the bands. Like for medieval steel the crowd was dead until they played the song. Sure it is one of the best songs ever written and better than everything else theyve written but KIT used to be about people who would know all the little obscure stuff just as well. Similar story for manilla road, people only got really enthusiastic when they played crystal logic material even though they were playing 1 set with fucking Randy Foxe. At least a guy took off his pants and made it a bit okay again.

I've seen this 3 times, Metalfest, Beastival and Night of the Prog '13... It was a real shame since lost of people would kill for being there. In Peru we have less than a few of this kinds of festivals.
Right now Im back in Germany for a couple of months, saddly I have a close relative in terminal conditionand visit her at Sweden. It totally worth it but couldnt arrive on time for the Bang your head festival. Is there any other upcomming festival here with a cool lineup until the end of August??? Is anyone going to Wacken or Summer Breeze Festival??
And last but not least would someone like to grab a beer?? :D

Just searched about it, the 3 day tickets cost 54€!!! Hahaha it's fucking nuts!! Although Im familiar with only 4 or 5 bands so I don't know if would be worth it. Still I must get a small tent a sleeping bag and sew a peruvian flag again!!

"Awkward" is merely a state of mind. You must free yourself from those chains. And pants.

I am not awkward when pantless.

In other news, I bought a carnivorous plant yesterday. For seven euros. Thank you, IKEA.

I fed her a housefly and a tiny speck of pork yesterday. I call her Audrey III.

You guys can always go for a Freedom from Pants Bike Ride, you know. I wish I hadn't discovered this so late and right after my bike broke in confusing ways. I'd be down down.

AFAIK, you'll also find naturally occurring carnivorous plants north from here, of the genus Drosera, also called "sundew".

You're Finnish, you're just awkward. End of. I mean, you might considered a socialite by Finnish standards but that just means you'll look at MacMoney's shoes for slightly longer without blushing.

Gomorro, I'll see you there. We can speak broken English together. :)

We have a few species of those here as well, but they live on swamps and marshlands, and are next to impossible to keep alive in one's home.

They are commercially harvested here on a small scale, BTW, for companies making herbal cough medicine, especially for whooping cough. I wonder how the hell most of such effects were originally discovered.

And you have nice teeth, all three of them without cavities. Also, you rarely (less than 70% of the time) smell of over-boiled veggies, Watney's Red Barrel, and unwashed armpits, making you a refined man of the world.

I need to go check MacMoney's shoes out. Man, I feel like an Afghan going into a club that has waitresses with their ankles showing!

Hey, buy MacMoney 16 cans of Watney's and you might get to tie his laces. My dental hygiene is immaculate, by the way, I brush my teeth once a month whether they need it or not.

Plus I'm not there so it wouldn't be worth it.

Did feel genuinely bummed about missing it in '17 (pretty sure it was that one?) Cirith, Visigoth, Eternal Champion, Wytch Hazel.. it's every heavy metal band I genuinely love in one setting.

I mean 2012 was great but going with a lot of bands I really enjoy, as opposed to "Yeah fuck it why not eh" like I did in '12 would be a really really good time

Appraisal inspection done, a couple things need to be fixed up by the seller, and then we're largely just waiting for the closing date to get my house. The appraisal came back $13,000 more valuable than I'm paying for the house. Score. *pumps fist like a meme*

Thanks man! I didn't realize it at first, but that means the house starts with equity. We got a largeish house for a good price in a great area. I can't wait for September so I can start moving in there.

I was wondering something last night while waiting for sleep. If Iron Maiden ever came to their senses and admitted that the (unfinished) artwork they used for 'Dance of Death' was terrible, and convinced David Patchett to redo it to his liking, would you be interested in a specially priced rerelease of said album with good artwork? I'm talking 'specially priced' in the same way that Nevermore rereleased 'Enemies of Reality' with improved sound: $5 or so. Needless to say, if they redid the cover-art, they'd have to redo the whole booklet, too; I'm thinking they could also add some bonus tracks to add incentive to the fans - not that Maiden of all bands needs to persuade many people. Preferably the bonus content would be something you couldn't easily find elsewhere, but considering the band and how vast their discography is, that would probably be hard to find.

Thoughts? Personally, I would be very interested in this, if I were in a position in life where I could spend money on such things, and despite my usual preference for original artwork, even when it's bad. 'Dance of Death' is a fine album and deserves better. If they couldn't talk Patchett into doing it, then hell, any of their post-reunion artists would do fine.

I imagine some collectors would go crazy for it, and there's some people who specifically value that type of stuff.

Eh, it's not a bad album and I don't own it, so I might go for it. "Paschendale" and the title track are worth it anyway.

Those are great songs, but you can't forget 'Montsegur'. That was the first song that really hooked me.

Dance of Death has more good than bad I think. The only songs I don't particularly care for are "New Frontier", "Face in the Sand", and "Age of Innocence".
