I went last year, but I won't be wasting money on this.

Absolute garbage list of bands.

Because Mayhem Fest isn't around to claim any of these bands anymore, you see.

Man, this thing has aged. This would be a pretty cool lineup for 2008, but not 2018. Is there a fresh generation of high schoolers who likes this stuff like we did 10-15 years ago?

Tempted to go and see The Agony Scene, and I hear Allegaeon and Soreption are good, but it'll be an early night for me if so... Devastation On the Nation Tour seems to be catering more to the technical & slam sides earlier in the summer, for those looking for an alternative touring fest to attend. Aborted and Psycroptic are headlining this year's bill. No shows within my radius, unfortunately!

Thread for that Devastation tour: https://www.metal-archives.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=120238

Barring the Agony Scene and BTBAM I’m disinterested
I’ve seen Born and Veil and they seem to rebook them every few years. I guess I’ll be going to Devastation of the Nation instead

Wow, BTBAM and Allegaeon are the only ones I like on the list. The latest Between the Buried and Me album, 'Automata I', was pretty good but $30 at the Worcester Palladium is a bit up there just to hear "Millions" and call it a day. I'd rather just stay home and still get stabbed all the same. Like some other folks have said, this would have been relevant ten years ago at Mayhem Fest, but Summer Slaughter ten years ago at least had Necrophagist and Dying Fetus. At their Palladium show they were wrapping up Summer Slaughter while Suffocation and Carcass joined them as part of a different tour. That was an awesome time even if there was a lot of deathcore to start the show.
