Hope I can afford it :( Sabaton seems cool though, only listened to them once or twice though.

I don't feel like driving to Connecticut for this line-up... gonna pass on this one. However, I hear the NYC show will coincide with Decibel Magazine's 10th anniversary event. I'd make the longer trip, provided the other bands are worth it. Vallenfyre is already a neat addition.

Amon Amarth and Skeletonwitch both just came through these parts, and both were good, but I doubt I'll go for this since it's on a week night and I just saw them both.

Meh, the best about this last tour was Enslaved. Sabaton? No thanks.

I like Amon Amarth and Skeletonwitch, but Sabaton? I mean, I'll give them an honest shot but from what I've heard, they're not my cup of tea and nor are they are a fit in for this show. Maybe they're playing it because of their one Amon Amarth cover?

Also, they're playing the shittiest venue in Edmonton so it'll be a decision to go or not.

The Tuesday night is killing it for me. I'll be working full-time at that point. I don't listen to Sabaton at all but seeing them on this isn't a dealbreaker. Corazon is one of the more convenient venues (at least to me) and I can be right up against the stage when AA come on.

The Connecticut show is a Wednesday. My work allows me to make my own schedule, so I'll just use that day as my obligatory day off. Been wanting to see a full length Amon Amarth show for a while now, especially after they killed at Mayhem Fest in their truncated, 30 minute set.

They should just call it the Hot Topic Fest.

Isn't this 90% of people at shows? Almost everyone has work or school the next morning. Going to shows and having a great time then waking up in terrible shape the next morning and slogging to your job is all part of the fun. I'd always rather be a little tired the next day than regret missing a band I like.

Sure, but the job I'll be getting is demanding in more than one way. It was easy when I'd go to a concert and just go to class (or skip it) the next day and sit at a desk. It's tougher when it's a job that requires that I'm not slogging in sleepy, weary, and however else I feel after a show cause I wanted to get the most of of it.

Exactly. Thankfully a very large majority of Chicago concerts seem to be on Fridays and Saturdays. :D

Yeah we've been getting lucky lately, thankfully, I'm running out of personal days.

Sabaton seems like a really strange choice given the other two bands. I can't imagine that there's a very large overlap between fans of Amon Amarth/Skeletonwitch and them. And does anyone know why Amon Amarth and Skeletonwitch touring NA again? That'll be two tours in one year.

Maybe they put Sabaton on there so Joakim can join Amon Amarth on Twilight of the Thunder God?

I would have liked to see AA and Skeletonwitch (missed the last tour) but I'm not driving 70-80 miles to do so, even if it is a Friday/Saturday night. Good job to whoever is responsible for this tour skipping over the Bay area as if there's no worthy venues in SF or Oakland. I know I'm bitching over nothing but I'm simply not enough of a fan of either band to drive an extra 40 miles in my gas-guzzling SUV. Oh well.

You do realize they did this on purpose because they came to the Bay Area just three months ago, right? It's not the booker's fault you missed the last show.

You're right, makes sense. Santa Cruz needs love too.
