Oh! I didn't noticed it, sorry. But in the hypothetical case they released the EP under their later name, are my previous assumptions correct?

Also, shouldn't Odyssey and Odysseus Reborn be split into two different bands?
(I hope I'm not asking too much)

Yes, they are.

Midnight Rider wrote:

Ideally, yes. I generally file a report asking Dia to give me an entry to work at, and will then move things around. If it's an insignificant name change, he'll let you know.

What's the point in adding "limited edition" to the version description of releases that don't have non-limited editions?

Not so much a question, but I think when we set a band's status to "Disputed", it should be standard practice to include the details of why it's disputed in the notes. Otherwise you have stuff like Angmar, which makes no indication as to why it's disputed.

Because it's simply easier to be consistent across the board as opposed to being forced to play catch-up and add it only if other editions are added at a later date.

Sigh... just a random example of a mid-level band and the amount of broken links typically requiring purge:

The case of two brothers: one of them, Martin Funderud, is dead, however line-up shows Mats is passed away too:

http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Kr ... ion/338672
http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Di ... ion/643464

But everything is right on Mat's profile:

I was wondering how the mods would feel about a thread in the "site-related tasks" subforum titled:
Potentially discardable bands in need of more research

Here's an example as to why this can be useful:
http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Dark_Diamonds/5322
The music that's available is highly questionable. The thing is, the latter genre, gothic metal, is just goth rock with the occasional industrial riff, whatever that is.
https://myspace.com/dark-diamonds/music/songs

The latest singles are even more electronic and synthesised.
https://soundcloud.com/dark-diamonds-1/ ... er-snippet
https://soundcloud.com/dark-diamonds-1/ ... ub-version

I think the debut listed here is more of the same, but there aren't any samples. Let me rephrase, I can't find any samples, but, then, others may be able to, as is the case with the sister thread.

I'd say just post in the cleansing thread.

I talked a lot recently with Ash / Nargaroth about this release:

http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Na ... are/300194

According to him, it's not a collaboration. Here's some his words explaining it:

"its a nargaroth full length!!!! Its usual that sometimes musicians work together. especially in Norway, when many musicians from different bands do work together for maybe an TAAKE or URGEHAL album what is then still an genuine band album and no cooperation. Dan from NYCHTS has or had a studio in switzerland where i went to record the album. he always wanted to work with nargaroth so he contributed to the album by composing with me some songs together"

As I saw modification history, this title was a full-length, then it has been changed into collaboration by Derigin.

We have seven of them now, Def. I thought they could be automatically-generated crap, but still wanted a mod confirmation before doing anything (i.e. nuking them).

It's a well-known collaboration album; he even admits it in the quote you gave. That said, a collaboration does not necessarily mean it's not a full-length; those two things are not mutually exclusive.

What's this? How peculiar.

EDIT: Aha, so I figured it out: https://distrokid.desk.com/customer/en/ ... er-number-

DistroKid is an upload service for musicians that puts their albums up on multiple online stores and streaming services. A middleman of sorts.

As these labels are (a) placeholders that were never intended to be real labels, (b) mask the fact that the releases were fundamentally independently released and (c) randomly generated to only be used once for each album, we see no reason to keep them. We will remove these "labels" and change those albums to independent.

Hi.
I've found a duplicate entry, but it seems no one sees it except me :)
version 1
version 1
I've made a report of a duplicate, it was soon closed without suitable explanation, I've made the second report that was in a queue for almost 2 months, then it was closed two.
Please someone explain me why you don't delete the fully identical (except unproved release date) entry?
the only information of this album on Season of Mist's website is about CD issued on Mon, May 25 2009.
Dicogs.com has a a page for original version and so-called promo version but I hope you understand that promo can not be issued later than initial release?
Someone explain where is the truth, please.

Could someone who speaks Portuguese read the article on pages 40-42?
https://issuu.com/heavyrama/docs/heavyrama-4

There may be some useful info on these two bands:
- https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ma ... ncia/26138

Moreover, I've just added this CD to Velvet Vex's page:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Velvet-Vex-Velv ... 1428612510
It's quite affordable for what it is. Any potential buyers? We have no line-up listed for Velvet Vex yet, so...

No concrete rule for or against it (unless it gets overly promotional or subjective ofc), though I'd prefer to remove them and just let people vote for the bands they think are similar.

The main issue I see here is that there's an inherently high potential for personal opinion in these and that's not something fit for a field that should be factual and neutral. It's probably best to keep this kind of "info" to reviews and similar artist votes, where it's clearly marked as someone's personal view and not "the site" dishing out unassailable truth.

I've added the info about the lineup and the members' other bands to MA, but I don't understand all of it. I'm not sure if there's any more objective info, or if we can deduce anything more regarding the lineup and dates from there. The "Festival On the Rock II" was in 2006.

http://www.tribunadonorte.com.br/notici ... udda/15997

edit: I found a biographyin Portuguese on last.fm which indicates the years of the lineup changes. I also re-read the zine interview again and determined that it indicated which three members of Magnificencia were in Velvet Vex, though their roles are not indicated. The PR blurb for another band, Heaven's Guardian, identified their vocalist Flavio Mendez as the singer of Velvet Vex.

I think I've gotten all the info that is needed, but if a native speaker could look it over, that would be appreciated, as my grasp on the language is quite primitive.

Spoiler: show

I wanted to update the page of the album Chambers of Exile by the Romanian band Cursed Cemetery. All the information that I added/still needs to be added can be found on this scan. The problem is I don't know for sure who the bassist "M" is. There are lots of M's in the archives. I think this is the one credited but, even so, that's still a supposition. Also, all the vocals have been recorded by a new singer named Alteea. Does that mean that she replaced Hex Lecter as the new singer of the band or should she be treated as a guest artist?

I'd add a new artist page for "M" since it can be merged if someone find out it is a artist with an entry already.

Then M's gonna be treated as a guest artist, right? While he might actually be a full-member. I'd rather not add anything right now. More info is needed.

Not sure what more info you need here, Lich. As SOTLB said, create a fresh entry for M (as a band member) and add him to the album line-up.
Moreover, Hex Lecter is a past member, and Alteea is a guest musician on the album line-up. If the info proves to be wrong eventually - which it won't - blame it on me.

All done. Now somebody with a higher rank has to set Hex Lecter as a past member.

Are V1 submission notes still available for this band?

This may be the same band:

We could use the logo and the cover art. I'm just not sure it's the one.

We'll find another way. :) I'll see if TGW can shoot them a message.
